I'm gonna try that myself. maybe it will help while im dual boxing... is it possibly that they put newer/better textures in? If a lot of people are complaining about it, it may be a more widespread issue like, increased texture resolution or some nonsense. what kind of hardware are you running rog? cpu? ram? (how fast and how much) video card?

Just re-read my post, and it's amazing how many times i said amazing. The linear nature of the game does fit right in with what I think they were trying to accomplish: immersing you in an epic cinematic storyline with pretty... amazing.. cut scenes. I never got into FFXII enough to really experience the game as you mentioned Shiki, (did the first two hunting quests - tomato and wolf - before my saved game got erased and I stopped playing), but FFX had enough open world play to keep my shortened attention span involved without getting lost. I also did read a FFXIII review that also mentioned that once you progress, the world opens up and you get to branch off a bit. Do you guys have any non-spoiler info on that? One other thing I would have liked to have seen was a mini game... I actually loved blitzball. It reminded me of what would have been a standalone NES game, and I really enjoyed it. So a mini game would have been a nice lil bonus. I like the weapon and armor upgrading, as well as the reiteration of the FFX grid sphere, and the graphics on that are amazing as well. overall, yes i reallly like this game, and although it starts off leading you down a single path, i have a feeling it was done on purpose and will play out in a pretty nice way. I mean this is the 13th game, I would be pretty surprised if they made a significant screw up on this franchise.

I hope you got the widescreen monitor. I've found that playing on widescreen is just like being able to watch movies on widescreen. MUCH BETTER. Enjoy your new monitor.

anyone else a big FF fan? (i know, stupid question) so i pick up the game fpr PS3 (if you have the option GET THE PS3 version - xbox360 plays the entire game at a lower resolution and since it's not blueray, it comes on 3 dvd's) and just as expected the graphics and sound are AMAZING. the graphics really are stunning. Im playing it on my JVC 37" 1080p lcd. the crystal forest was freekin amazing. I felt like i was going through the zone too quickly to appreciate the visuals. it was amazing. anyhow.. i like the game a lot. its got a really cool combat system with customizable combat roles (healer, damage, tank, buffer, debuffer etc..) that you can preset and change on the fly which gives it a lot more substance than the typical turn-based or even active combat systems. my one and only complaint so far is it is SOO LINEAR!! i LOVED FFX and even tho there was a path to follow, you could branch off and do side quests and so many different things. aside from a few games that i love for nostalgia purposes, like original Zelda, and windwaker, and other stuff, FFX is by far the game I enjoyed most and spent the most time on. So im a little dissappointed by the lack of that in FFXIII. I'm about 12-15 hours in, and from what I understand you can get through it in about 40 hours. Also there is no - once the game is beaten - replay the game mode - (does that make sense?) oops, have work to do, ill finish this post later lol (@ work, l0l)

lawl, crazy screens r no good! Questions: What kind of monitor is it? how old? what is your video card? what were the last things you did with your pc before the problem started? First guess is if it's an old CRT television type of monitor, it may be getting old and have to warm up. Second guess is your video card fan may be on the way out? vid card is heating up, and the fan is taking a while to speed up or come on causing glitchy video. Third guess, reinstall/update your video card drivers. GL

ooh ooh *raises hand* If you have a DBA (if that is even encessary) i will absolutely go in with Shean and whoever for the one year sub. price to get an OEM copy. that is a steal. let me know! My XP is working just fine for me, but if i can get a hold of windows 7 for a reasonable price, I'm down. and I would actually maybe be looking for 3 for myself and two friends to all go in, which would lower the price even more. let me knoW!!

I think my UI will sadly disappoint everyone. I use standard everything. My addons: Auctioneer DBM Recount Omen Threat Meter Quest Helper Atlas Loot (when i remember to install it) Titan Panel (when i remember to install it) I'm going to give X-Perl a shot tho. Unit frames look nice. and i really like the click casting ability. gonna bind dispell and disease cleanse to it. Aside from that i PWN blizz's raid interface.. in the face. lol i think im getting carpal tunnel lol

Win. notice the insane energy nonsense in this, as well as the 9.9% alcohol volume. I actually drank half of a grape one before one of my ice hockey games once. got a ton of energy and caught a decent buzz too. 2 goals and an assist later. We won the game. LOL however, i dont recommend that, my stomach really hurt after.

I'm thinking it was the heat issue, but at this point i would be wondering if the constant overheating/shutting down may have damaged any other components. I have a 9800 gt as well, and it tends to run hot under load. I would definitely check your voltages tho. I put new high performance memory in at one point, and everything ran fine until i got the computer under heavy load. then boom, freeze up and shut down. I set the correct voltages in the BIOS and not only did it run stable, but it ran much better. Maybe check to upgrade your BIOS to the newest version. If it was indeed your cpu that has been overheating, you may want to reseat it, clean the cpu and heatsink, and apply some high grade thermal paste. You have already re-seated your video card, maybe try re-seating the memory and check all your cables and molex connectors that they are nice and snug (careful not to force or bend anything). Do a little hardware check up. Clean all the fans/fan blades/heat sinks/ventilation areas. Make sure all the hardware/connectors are seated firmly. Rearrange the cables/wires to not obstruct airflow. Also, I build computers on the side and have lots of stuff sitting around, I could send ya an extra 80 mm fan or two if you have room in your case. It's been a while since i built anyone a fancy gaming rig and these fans are sitting around doing me no good, and they are pretty cool LED fans. that's all i got for ya! =D good luck Edit: oh also being that it seemed your stability issues changed with removal and replacement of your video card, upgrade to the newest drivers, and make sure it's fan is clean.

lol slipped that right in! I was going to pick up 2 authenticators but when i saw the ipodtouch one, i only bought the one for my sister. im getting the mobile one for mah itouchybobdealything. I assume you dont have to be onlnine with the ipodTouchmyself for the authentictor to work?? I'm glad i dont have to carry around another giant keychain things. not trying to hijack the thread but does anyone use the mobile armory app for iphone/ipod touch? its's so awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! =D
