Aigle - I've never told anyone my password, or written it down. I do use the same password for some other systems - Only those you would expect to be secure, like mainstream on-line shopping, work accounts, etc. I don't think I use the same combination of username/password anywhere, which makes me think keylogger as opposed to some site selling my account info. I run Norton AntiVirus (typically with realtime protection off for WoW performance, but it scanned on Tuesday), and Spybot Search and Destroy (running realtime, it blocks stuff from web sites all the time.) Windows firewall, and no personal router. ---- I wonder if hoarding all that gold made me a huge target (I wasn't running around advertising it), or if they just use whatever account info they can get. I suppose any gold farmer would love to get his claws on a geared tankadin regardless. Meh.

Also, wtf is up with 2-hour turn-around on character realm transfer? I was logged in until ~4am last night, and Bright was apparently transferred at 6am (although the timezones could be confusing that, but it was clearly only a few hours, and overnight at that). Is there no wait time on character transfers? That would seem like a useful line of defense against hacking, even if their customer service really is that good (I thought it took a few days.) Or does it mean that the thieves have been messing around with my account for a while, while I was still playing, setting the stage for their big move last night? I'm not sure which is worse. Just for interest's sake, I guess.

Apparently, I've been hacked. I just noticed a volley of emails in my inbox, and it looks like someone figured out my password (keylogger?), changed it, transfered at least my tankadin to another realm (paid transfer - Yeah right), and got the account closed for using whatever crap mods they use (maybe they were botting for gold with Brightpetra, who knows.) I'm sure the ~40,000g I had is gone, all my gear vendored, and all that good stuff. My account has been "closed"... I don't even know what that means, although I cling to a slim reed of hope that somehow Bliz cut off access to the account before the toons were too badly sabotaged to make playing the game fun upon recovery. WTF. As you can imagine I'm pissed, as I wait for a response from Bliz account management. How should I go about expunging the keylogger, in the meantime? QQ

DL: Blessing of Sanctuary still reduces damage taken by 3% for those other tanks I suppose, but yeah, the nerf to make it only optimized for tankadins is perplexing. On the whole, a balance chance in our favor I suppose! Hymn of Hope: I hardly knew thee! Empowered Renew: Rawrrrrr!!! <3 50% in-combat mana regen?! Frost Mages = the new mana batteries? (Subt) Rogues: Shadow Dance opening a new action bar (for stealth-only actions) will be much appreciated. I'd be interested in hearing more about "Advanced quest tracking". A questhelper that doesn't grind the machine to a halt would be great. (Tabbing out to look up quest item coordinates on Wowhead is just dumb!)

I am planning to be there Friday.

You'd think. But you'd be amazed how many people in the US continue to exhibit a gut-level, negative reaction to the word. Think of "terrorist" or "Nazi" - The reaction you and I have to those is apparently similar to what a lot of folks get from "socialism". I hear Americans (on discussion boards) actually equating socialsm to Nazism (ex. "Obama is a socialist. Remember what happened with Hitler, and all his socialist ideas?!") Despite the fact that 99% of them spent much of the formative years of their life in socialist public schools, etc, etc. *shrug* (AFIK this anti-socialist conditioning is a uniquely American thing... Has anyone experienced anything similar elsewhere in the world?) (Disclaimer - I've met many apparently well-adjusted and independant-thinking Americans too, so don't take it personally! lol)
-
It would be, if it wasn't so true!
-
Pst - I think that's because the discount price is there to lure you into a contract. They already have you in the boat, so what do they care? What if you accuse them of a terrorist plot? Or maybe threaten terrorist acts against them? You could just kindof vaguely introduce terrorism into the discussion, and then go one way or the other depending on which seems more terrifying!

"DKP" <-- Gold!! Why is Socialism (or Communism) scary? Is China doing Capitalism better than any other country on Earth? (WRT recent stimulus approaches.) (US politics) Does either party act in the best interests of most Americans? (Or do both shamelessly favor a small minority at the expense of the rest?) Why don't we just send the illegal immigrants home? Someone already mentioned this one, and it's solid - "Too big to fail? Really?" AKA socialism/welfare for the rich...

Transparency? Show me the ROI for the program...

Yer all pups! Nice lolcat!

lol yeah - That pic made me salivate... Then my heart spontaneously exploded!

Keep your old PC going while you build the new one, and report your symptoms here to see if The Geeks of FP can help you diagnose and fix it? If you have no experience with PC innards though, and no friend who might be able to drop over and bail you out of a jam for the price of a couple beers and a pizza - Building your own might not be worth the hassle.

...and dual spec, I hope!! Prayer of Healing on other groups... Kindof makes CoH a bit of a red-headed-stepchild of a 41-point talent imo. Instant cast, sure, but still...

That was full of win! I was sad when the girl bunny got ganked at the end though

If you feel like you would be interested in what goes on under the hood of your PC, and be empowered to upgrade it bit by bit over time (new graphics cards, processors, etc), then building your own from parts is a really good idea! And you should be able to save some $$... PC Gamer magazine has lists of parts (from the case to the sticks of RAM) that they recommend for mid and high-end gaming rigs, that give you a good idea of the cost. You would probably want to use mid-range components as your starting point, if you want to spend < $1k. The build is really quite easy - Everything more or less snaps into place as long as you made sure you didn't get a motherboard too big for the case, or w/e. If you can read some fairly detailed instructions that come with the motherboard, and figure out how dip switches work, you're pretty much home free! Don't skimp on the power supply! Get one that allows room for growth, should you upgrade to some power hogging video card in the future.

I just posted on the other thread, so this is easy - Here! http://forgottenprophets.com/index.php?sho...c=12928&hl=

The "tedious quest chain" we're talking about isn't the one where you help your past/future self fight some infinite guys at the bronze dragonshrine ("I have to go - Get some new gear, OK?") - Or is it? I've done those quests a couple of times, and don't recall any "helm of second sight 2.0"... Unless I snap vendored it?

Aw - So cute! Big gratz GG! <3 I hope mother and daughter are doing great - She looks like she's gaining weight fast!
-
lol - The best one was the getaway car! And a couple of the motorcycle ones
-
I feel you! I'm actually looking into getting back into teaching. Scary thought, but they have a great pension!
-
I agree - But the good news is that we can get there a lot more easily now, with all of the reductions in amount of enchanting mats needed!
-
The dual spec is a lie? :'( (Meh - On further investigation, supposedly it was "always scheduled for patch 3.1". Fingers crossed, and boo to those who got my hopes up for today!)
-
I hear it's Kindof a Big Deal down there!
-
lol - Those are some marketable skills, right there!
