Prison Inmate Sues Blizzard Over World of WarCraft Addiction
Fatherpeteus replied to Erlin's topic in General
...And your lawyer should go on probation, then probably be disbarred. The problem with that is that judges used to be lawyers, and look positively on lawyers lining their pockets. *shrug* -
True of any rich guy, right?

That sucks, if you have been living together in a house, then on top of your partner dying you get smacked with a monster tax bill to stay in your home. Estate taxes in general are kindof sketchy. Tax credits for spouses, as well as medical insurance and such, I'm not so big a fan of. And I mean spouses in general - I don't like that marriage gets used for one person (traditionally the wife) to quit working and become a dependant when there are no kids involved. That leads to all kinds of unnecessary problems imo - No easy answers though!

Absolutely - Buffett is one of the guys who is supposedly advising Obama, and if he could actually wrangle him into his cabinet or w/e, Wall Street would be very happy indeed! (And I give the guy a lot of cred myself - He certainly knows how to make money.) I'm sure Obama is trying to tap him, but I doubt Buffett would want the job since he has arguably a much sweeter deal already and definitely doesn't need any padding for his resume. Time will tell!

What rights come with marriage that don't come with a civil union? I don't know these things, because here in Canada we're down with the gay marriages. --- Looking forward to seeing who Obama appoints his Secretary of the Treasury! He has some of the most respected names on Wall Street advising him, supposedly. Keeping them around gives me hope for the economy.

Meh - I think the right of poor people to get decent medical care, or the whole illegal worker thing would be a lot more important than couples getting some official piece of paper to prove something they already knew? I guess it depends which side of those fences you sit on. Will be interesting to see the result though, for sure. I would be very surprised if it passes in Cali. I haven't caught if the Dems got the fillibuster-proof senate they were hoping for... Maybe not?

I kindof liked being able to sell consumables though - Professions really should be gold-makers imo.

I gather voter participation is much higher than normal this time, with all the hype surrounding this particular campaign. Kindof the opposite of tha last Canadian election, eh?

Bliz doesn't care if 1 person has 11 million accounts, or they have 11 million unique customers, as long as they get their 11 million x $15 per month... I wonder what the prospects for retention on those multiple accounts are though? I assume a lot of those people plan to power-level an alt with dual-box recruit-a-friend, and then transfer it to their main account? Or maybe not - Time will tell I suppose!

From an outside/neutral perspective, it seems to me that many American Republican conservatives see anyone who isn't as conservative as they are (ex. a moderate conservative like me) as arch-lefties. It's all a matter of perpective I guess! It shouldn't be, but meh...

The Gabriel being redeemed sub-plot wouldn't have been my first choice, but I suppose it's one way to deal with him being immortal/invulnerable now. His newfound humanity is his kryptonite, or something. ^^ The painting was of the four Pinehurst guys - Blue fire dude, Fear-eater dude, Mind-control dude, and I think Peter's dad.

It shouldn't need to be offline longer than a normal maintenance window. They should be able to set the new hardware up with no users on it, run around a bit with some GMs to make sure it's working (or even use it as one of the test realms!), then when it is taken down on tuesday, simply copy all the data files over and point the login server to the new IP address. *shrug* In the cold hard world of business, until customers stop paying in significant numbers, there's no problem!

Kudos to both of them, they were actually pretty funny!

Maya is far to fine to die! (knocks wood)

Speaking of BBC - I forgot Doctor Who! (And spinnoff Torchwood) Mucho amusing And Supernatural! And Stargate fo sho, and I'm giving the new Sanctuary (starring a disconcertingly brunette Amanda Tapping) a try. And Poker After Dark!

Terminator - The MILF Chronicles; So You Think You Can Dance Canada - Never would have thought I'd get hooked on a dance competition, but they are SO frigging good. Not to mention hot!

Hot blonde triplets make you sad?? A chilling cloud just passed before the sun, or something...

Skullcrusher still not up, more than an hour after other realms started appearing. Windrunner supposedly is, but I've been staring at a load screen for about 15 minutes.

Healbot should be required for all raid healers imo. And I have no interest in an off-topic argument on the issue with people who don't understand it. Bliz threat meter might be a good idea for the first few weeks after the content patch and expansion, if Omen releases a new version every couple of hours again! I also found a trinket bar mod while mucking around Curse - New to me, and hopefully will save me some cramped action bar hassle! (Especially for my tankadin/jewelcrafter, who carries ~6 really useful trinkets around.) If that works it will be nice, along with freed bag space from the new mount and vanity pet interfaces! Father will get some bag space back from consolidating healing and dps gear too - Nice!

All of these have been updated today at Curse Gaming: Pally Power Healbot Decursive Deadly Boss Mods Omen Gatherer Cartographer Questhelper Atlas

I'd assume any threat meter will be "borked" along with anything else that needs to do something with one of the new talents or spells that were just added.

Hrmph - I pasted from the address bar instead of the blue thingie above the calculator that actually updates. Trying again! http://talent.mmo-champion.com/?priest=053...000000000000000
