  1. It's SIGNIFIGANTLY better then it used to be with SP1, and I'm excited about the networkability and reconstructability of the OS. Like I can go into XP's registry, and in 20s give you a completely wothless hunk of computing. If I were to do that same thing to a vista machine it would attempt to boot, fail, rebuild the registry, and boot up just fine. It will also restore system files that have been lost throught the inane way windows constantly writes to the hard disk. It's really a quantum leap for Microsoft in terms of an operating system. But, and there's always going to be one, after being in development for close to a decade I have higher expectations. I've often said this reminds me of the switch from 98 to XP, b/c it's the same. But with the rampant device driver problems that I run into daily, and to be honest XP can do everything I want it to, Look just as good (gogo vista themes!) and be more compatible with the majority of devices the Vista will be in the near future. Is Stick going to have problems? I doubt it as he's not a moron. But don't be surprised if some printers stop working, or the old drivers even cause BSODs. In time I'm sure it'll be amazing, but that's a little bit off.
  2. I know the length of my support calls with XP, and I know the length of them with Vista. Vista has a lot of good things going for it, like being self preserving (mostly). If you have any idea what you're doing with a computer you're more then likely going to find Vista to be more of a flashy annoyance then anything else. Sauce hit the nail on the head. It's new. New enough and buggy enough that developers are staying away from it for a time. I'm more then content to wait for an aditional service pack to come out before I even consider using it as my main gaming OS. On a different machine that I plan on messing around with however ... that's an entirely different matter.
  3. Vista eh? Man are you a sucker for punishment.
  4. A good friend of mine is dating someone with this exact problem. =(
  5. The system will be able to at least address all of the ram. With the way windows manages it's memory it's not going to be able to use more then 3BG effectively, only ever (I mean freaking rarely) dipping into that last gig. Should he choose to up to a 64bit OS later on however, he's not going to have to change his hardware. Or if he's ballsy he can run Redhat or something with a windows shell, or even dual boot a 32bit and 64bit OS. I don't think that Shorty's going to go that direction though. Stick use a 32bit OS for the moment, unless you like hunting for drivers and praying your devices will work. 64bit OSes aren't widely used enought that they're truely universally compatible yet. Given some time they'll be the golden standard, but that's going to take MS getting of it's fat corporate ass; and making an OS that doesn't take an army of SPs to make function the way it should. Oh and if you're still looking for a PSU I highly recomend a PC power and cooling unit. Your Vid Card is going to love that Single high power rail. I just purchased some of the last hardware that I'm going to need for my system, and with the paycheck I'll be getting on the 19th I'll be finishing (mostly) the build. I'm using This
  6. Canada Computers, 9/10 Beavers agree, is < then Newegg.
  7. Circumcision isn't going to protect anyone from any disease, So I've got no idea where HIV comes into play. You're pissed about losing 10% of your sexual sensitivity b/c you're a woman, for most men it's something that is useful. Unless you like guys like Shad that are good for 10min or less.... And besides the medical argument, consider the social one. Do you want your boy to be the only kid in Gym class sporting the trurtle neck? Pro-circumcision review: No gain or loss from HIV protection, Increased stamina in bed, and social acceptance by his peers. Kind of sells it self...
  8. I'm totally calling dibs on Hin's couch!

  11. Now imagine that idiot sales guy calling Dell b/c his box can't get his website. .. That is my day.
  12. Before I started working for Dell I was in construction / interior decorating. It's something I can handle =P
  13. Add me to the confirmed list, just found out that workforce approved all my time off. /flex
  14. Oh the memories... I knew I liked you Erik, but that cemented it for me right there. PvP for me, and those that really care about it, isn't for the rewards. It's for the reputation and honor that goes along with being feared amongst your peers.

  22. In some states you have to affiliate with a party to participate in the election, whether or not you vote along that party's line is an entirely different matter.
  23. You're probably better off taking a cow's blood and protien powder slurry. Infact, I'd probably drink that over those nast-ass chalky protien bars. Serriously hate them.
  24. We ain't takin' no shit from no tree rodent. Represent.
  25. If you happen to see me I'll DPS or Heal, just give me a heads up.
