I just leave System Restore turned off, I'm usually able to fix just about any problem that arises. This is the first time that something has gone massively wrong. My buddy is going to let me transfer my music and stuff to his comp while I format so I won't be losing all of my stuff. Thanks for the advice guys. P.S. Haha Lyrin, very funny. lol, that's the debate that's running in my head. I have a friend who's going to let me transfer all of my movies/music to his comp so i can format without having to use DVD's as a backup or anything. Thanks for the advice everyone, it's appreciated.

I need help before I throw my computer out the window. Alright. Here's the deal. I've been trying to get rid of this stupid virus for the past month or so. It's called Trojan.Vundo and it's annoying as hell. As far as I can tell the only real thing it does is make random ads pop up. I've attempted to get rid of it using Symantec Antivirus to no avail. I've attempted to use their special "Trojan.Vundo Removal Tool" and also run normal scans then attempted to edit the Windows registry to get rid of it. None of this has done anything. I said to myself "Alright, I'll just deal with the damn windows. It's not THAT big of a deal." Now things are getting worse. A few weeks ago my start menu quit working properly. I can still open the Start Menu itself, but I can't access the "All Programs" section. That means I pretty much either browse the C: drive or use the Run program to do whatever I need to do. It gets better than that. Last night I was letting my friend use my computer to burn some DvD's. I got an error saying I didn't have enough disk space. I said "Hmm, I'll just empty the Recycle Bin. Wait a second... the Recycle Bin is gone." That's right. Gone. I followed all of the steps the Windows Help website listed. I tried to recreate it in the registry to no avail, I was unable to create a shortcut to it. Then I had an idea of my own. I'll use the Disk Cleanup option on my C: drive to do it! So, success? Wrong. The Disk Cleanup option is missing from the properties tab on the C: drive. Interesting. I still know how to get around THIS problem though. I type Cleanmgr to pop it up, and hey. That's even better. The entire box is empty. I can't do anything using this utility now. So, here I am. I've stretched my technical know-how to the limits, and I have absolutely no idea what to do next aside from backing up my 50 gigs of music/movies and formatting. That's a last resort for me. I would call Dell Tech Support but I don't have the patience to talk to some guy on the other side of the world who I can't understand and who knows absolutely nothing about computers aside from what the one in front of him is telling him to tell me. So please. Someone help me if at all possible. Or laugh at my misfortune. I know you guys love to do that. =p
