FollowUp: Rog you may also want to take a read of the following MS Knowledge Base article. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/328890 The goal of the change being to make the value of TcpAckFrequency = 1

Next questions are, is the 2000ms being reported in game or is the 2sec delay what you're feeling when you try to perform an action (test when you're in IF rather than Dalaran). And are both numbers (in-game and observed) about the same? In the mean time check your graphics card (GFX) drivers are at the latest stable release (197.13 as of this post). I remember a little while back that some of the old NVIDIA drivers were causing a significant amount of User Interface latency. So you'd feel the lag, but in game you'd be seeing a much smaller latency value. -X EDIT: You might also want to unplug and leave for at least 30 second each element in your network, so your computer, router and modem. Then plug them back in. Start with your modem, wait 60s Then your router, wait 60s more Then your computer. This will hopefully cause your network devices to flush their DNS caches too. The step after this will be to perform a network trace to the Blizzard Login Servers.

This stuff is RARE. I've prospected out about 4 stacks of titanium ore just to get 10 powder for a single JC token, so it gets expensive. Of course with the prevalence of saronite ore these days (less than 20g a stack), and no CD on transmuting saronite bars it to titanium bars there isn't much reason to NOT prospect titanium ore, even if it's just for the epic gems. Still at 300g for a JC token (if you buy the dust direct off the AH), I think I'll stick to running the daily. Best of luck, and someone get this man some Titanium Dust!

Rog, I've seen lots of people complain about this recently and there seems to be a general consensus that you need to flush your DNS. It's not painful and nor is there a toilet brush in sight (unless you happen to have your computer in the bathroom, but that's something for another topic!). If anything isn't clear feel free to post back seeking clarification. 1) Click on Start, then Run, and type in CMD 2) Press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER 3) If your on Vista of Win7 you should be prompted with the Administrator prompt. Confirm this. 4) ipconfig /flushdns 5) ... 6) profit (hopefully!) Hope this helps if not then I have a few more tricks we might try, but each gets a little more invasive.

Mushroom gives Speed Boost to beat lag! (Or at least make it ALL the way through the wall)

Just stand at Krasus Landing and don't ever log out. Eventually all the important people will end up going through Dalaran.

Interesting that you got a roughly 1:1 ratio on the number of alliance players vs horde. It often feels so much different. Now of course, I'm assuming that the data collected was for Skullcrusher.

Any chance on a SFW / NSFW flag on these links please?

Sutter, you may benefit by trying to move into a second tier of help desk / QA. In a decent company it'll allow you to expand back into the coding side as you debug problems (though not necessarily fix them) exposing you to the coding side; without giving up the very valuable 6 years you already have in Tier 1 help desk. I know it's not the immediate answer of, 'give me code now'; but within a couple of years it would give you a solid platform to launch into a stronger development role. As always feel free to pick my mind on vent.

Thanks for the Tech Net link, Fifi. FTR: The MS Action Pack is available here: https://partner.microsoft.com/40016455 Just in case you wanted to check it out. Not sure what the differences are yet but I'm sure if I can Google up a summary someone else has already written up. Will follow up with anything I find.

I believe what Fifi is talking about is the Microsoft Action Pack. it's actually a $200 / year subscription but OMG its by far the cheapest way of getting ALL the MS software at a VERY reasonable price. The good news is that you can un-subscribe after the first year, and the license keys you have stay golden. The only prerequisite is that you can feign being a company. :/

Sorry to have caused you heartache, Shad. But thanks for the fix!

You may also want to check out Elk's Buff Bars. Allows you to create multiple anchors which can be assigned either a type (Buff, Debuff, Tracking or Weapon Enchant) or watch a specific list of buffs, such as procs etc. Hey Shean, does MSBT pick up Hot Streak currently, cause I know there is a Combat Log bug with the spell right now and Grayhoof's SCT keeps missing it!

I do that from my cube, and no-one actually listens when I yell at them or berate them... but other than those small discrepancies Tom; you're right on the money (And I also do tech support just to stay the boredom!)

Congratulations to the 25-man team that last night (2nd Mar 2010) managed to kill Rotface on the first attempt of the night, despite the frequent lag spikes from the server. Unfortunately our slaying of this monstrosity also took down the instance and as such we have no screen-shot to prove it or loot to link. Serenity has a ticket in for the loot, so perhaps once it's answered she'll be kind enough to update it here. In the meantime I offer you X's armory feed as proof. http://www.wowarmory.com/character-feed.at...mp;locale=en_US

Thanks Shiki... Does it show that investigate and write up reports of software bugs all day?

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is already a Known Issue of the forum, but the Armory Link under our names when you make a post is broken. For example my current link shows a URL of: http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/characte...r&n=Xiaolin But the correct link should be: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...&cn=Xiaolin Note the change in the server ('armory.worldofwarcraft.com' versus 'www.wowarmory.com') and the character name variable ('cn' versus 'c'). Just wanted to let the powers that be, know. -X
