This thread is almost full of win....almost. Charleston is growing and expanding daily, despite this alleged recession. Another 1000 acres have been cleared out near Jedburg for a big development project, lots of strip malls are opening up in North Charleston, both big 4 year public universities are expanding their campuses, AND they opened a Moe's up near my house. I'm more inclined to agree with Hykos on this issue. The media particularly is doing a great job of hyping up this nonevent (i.e. CNN is currently showing a real time picture of the NYSE board with the INDU/INDP up there so everyone can wait with bated breath as it moves up and down 5 points). It's more of a media play than anything imo, and I too will wait for the next quarters reports before I start hollowing out my bombshelter and stuffing money under my mattress.

not trying to defend this ridiculous law suit but just as a clarification: its a class action suit; i.e., 5 million dollars is a figure entitled to compensate all xbox live users who were "harmed" during the outage. the 3 people who filed the suit are just named plaintiffs for the paperwork. even so, a 5 million dollar suit wouldnt net people jack. as of november, xbox live had roughly 8 million users...giving every one 63 cents if the suit was to win. *woopty doo* then again, the lawsuit is more of a statement by some angry customers about their perceived injury from the servers being down. anyways, its a stupid idea.....but 3 people wont be getting 1.6 million each

Well, I read all of this thread. :tired: In summation, my view is as follows: Regardless of Hilary's past indiscretions (or involvement with Bill's), I think this election is all but decided. As HV said, I don't think there's any way around the fact that GWBush is by far the least conservative Republican we've had in office in a while. Coupled with all the international issues and our country's involvement in them, I think GWBush's legacy will push many voters to vote Democrat in order to "not vote Republican." I don't think this is a great voting strategy personally, but I think Hilary or Obama have much greater chances of winning the upcoming election through namesake and a desire for change in office vis a vis a different party president than any of the Republicans currently running. Granted all of this is strictly my opinion, but if we were betting horses, I'd call this a hunch. ...Although Huckabee does have Chuck Norris' support...maybe Norris will kill the democrats. :gentle prod:
