This is a popular thread on another forum, so I thought I'd try it here. Here are the rules: -Sign up by Sunday (06/22/08) to be included in the game. -Every day, playing members will vote off another member. -All votes are done in thread, no PMs. Reasons for voting the person off are encouraged and hilarious. -The voting is from 10 AM to 8 PM daily. If I remember to do it, there is an update on the status around noon. -Is it a popularity contest? Or should you try to get rid of the Big Heavies first to save your own skin? -This is no place for BFFs and hurt feelings. It's every man for himself. -Should you vote first and get the ball rolling? Or wait until the end to be the tie breaker? Play class alliance? Will the healers unite? -In the event of a tie, both members will stay, but TWO people are voted off the next day. Sign up here to be included in the game. Okay, go. ---Still on the Island--- Daghostmaker Ezmira Memphis ---Voted Off--- Adramelach (17th) Beckbristow (9th) Coeus (18th) Eria (3rd) Erlin (2nd) Finnegus (20th) Gryph (14th) Honki (8th) Keldorn (13th) Letica (21st) Lyssa (12th) Richburr (6th) Sauceboss (15th) Shadrende (16th) Shortstick (1st) Stangmeister (11th) Swaloads (4th) Trigori (10th) Wintress (5th) Vixxie (7th) ---Killed--- Andrie (25th) Atrus (23rd) Drunknduncan (22nd) Shikimaru (26th) Lemontree (24th) Ryee (27th) ---Suicide??--- Klaudia (19th) ---Voted Off--- Beckbristow (9th) Eria (3rd) Erlin (2nd) Gryph (14th) Honki (8th) Keldorn (13th) Lyssa (12th) Richburr (6th) Sauceboss (15th) Shadrende (16th) Shortstick (1st) Stangmeister (11th) Swaloads (4th) Trigori (10th) Wintress (5th) Vixxie (7th)

haha even the gay has done this more than a few times before! getting shot does suck, but unless theyre like...within 10 feet of you or have some ridiculously jacked gun, its usually only a red circle/slight welt. although i did have a nice third nipple for about a week after coming around a tree and getting shot point blank. outdoor fields rock my face off. theres a place about 5 minutes from my house that does this. 9 different fields spread out across a ridiculous amount of land (right next to the air force base...i guess this is the only thing the goverment would allow so close), all in the woods. one is capture the flag (wooden fort in middle, flag on 3rd floor), one with this really ridiculous trench in the middle that is damn near impossible to climb out of if the bridge is occupied....one with a few tunnells hollowed out in a clay ... hill (big hill, and yes im sure its probably dangerous...could collapse on you) a speedball field, etc. all in all i've enjoyed it. never really liked those kids who brought their own modded guns, takes a bit of the sport out of it when you go with a group of 30 and 3 of them are mowing people down while the rest of us can only shoot one at a time...but yeah. Pretty sure your body slows the metabolism way down because it thinks you're "starving" and is trying to conserve fat to convert later to energy in case you decide not to eat again.

Hmmm just recently started doing some lifting / strength training with a trainer. (6'3 260...insert fatty comments here ) For now I'm more in Gryph's boat. Lighter weights for more reps (I am not under the dillusion that I personally can lift 250 lbs yet ) Rowing, biceps/triceps, overhead pull, roman lunges with a bar - upper body Crunches, reverse crunches, sit ups - core Leg press, inclined leg press, calf lifts, knee raises - lower body It's a pain but I'm starting to see more definition, particularly in my shoulders/upper arms.

Consider the following partial differential equation and associated inital and boundary conditions: PDE: dθ/dt = d²θ/dt² [1] IC: θ = θo (θo a constant) BC1: dθ/dx = 0 at x = 0, t > 0 BC2: θ = 0 at x = L, t > 0 To solve by separation of variables, we assume the solution is of the form θ = T(t)X(x) [2] where T(t) and X(x) are independent functions. If this is not the form of the solution, the equation will fail to separate, and another method must be tried. Differentiating [2] to obtain terms like those in [1], we see dθ/dt = X * dT/dt [3] d²θ/dx² = T * d²X/dx² [4] Substituting [3] and [4] into [1], we get X * dT/dt = T * d²X/dx². Moving like variables to same sides, (1/T)dT/dt = (1/X)d²X/dx² Now we have two variably independent functions (and their derivatives) set equal to each other. It is obviously the case that this can only be true if both sides of the equation are equal to some constant, which we shall call ±λ². Thus we obtain two ordinary differential equations: (1/T)dT/dt = ±λ² [5] (1/X)d²X/dx² = ±λ² [6], where the sign on λ² will be determined by trial and error. Starting first with -λ², [5] and [6] are dT/dt + λ²T = 0 d²X/dx² + λ²X = 0 From ODE, we know the solutions to these two equations, and they are T = C*exp(-λ²t) [7] X = A*sin(λx) + B*cos(λx) [8] where A, B, and C are constants of integration. Given these solutions, it is apparent that the choice of -λ² was appropriate, since using +λ², would have produced T = C*exp(λ²t) X = A*sinh(λx) + B*cosh(λx), and hyperbolic functions do not represent meaningful solutions in spatial dimensions. Now all that is left to do is find the constants of integration to complete the solution. Looking back at the initial and boundary conditions, for θ(x,o) (that is, holding t constant), the original conditions become: dX/dx = 0 at x = 0, t > 0 X = 0 at x = L, t > 0 Differentiating [8] w.r.t. x, we get dX/dx = Aλ*cos(λx) - Bλ*sin(λx). When x = 0, by the boundary conditions we see dX/dx = 0, so 0 = Aλ*cos(0) - Bλ*sin(0) = Aλ, which implies A = 0. So with that in mind, [8] is now X = B*cos(λx). Looking now at the condition x = L, we see X = 0, so X = B*cos(λL) = 0. This equation can only be 0 when either B = 0, or cos(λL) = 0. If B = 0, then all solutions are trivial (since A is also 0), so we ignore that possibility. Setting cos(λL) = 0, we see that this equation is true for λL = π/2, 3π/2, 5π/2, etc. In general terms, B*cos(λL) = 0 when λ = (2n + 1)π/2L. We were unable (so far) to determine the precise value of B, but we do know X has an infinite number of solutions of the form Xn = Bn*cos(Λnx), where Λn = (2n + 1)π/2L. Note [7] also has an infinite number of solutions, which are Tn = Cn * exp(-Λn²t). By the superposition property of PDEs, and remembering our solution should be of the form [2], the complete solution to [1] is θ = Σ(Bn*cos(Λnx))*(Cn*exp(-Λn²t)). Since Bn and Cn are both constants, and the product of two constants is another constant, we will call Bn*Cn = Dn (for ease), and the solution is, θ = ΣDn(cos(Λnx)*exp(-Λn²t)). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is how I feel about global warming.

This thread is going places. Today's date on the Mayan calendar is 12.19.15.6.14. My how close we are coming to 13.0.0.0.0, the last b'ak'tun of our time before we undergo a paradigm shift (or apocalypse). /brings marshmallows.

LOL! holy crap i laughed really loudly and the lady next to me is all eyeballing me now. Although srsly, we need a new channel now that Ruby knows. Also ghosty, what do you use for combat text? I assume its just SCT/SCTD, but mine never looks as neat as everyone elses.
