    Mana Cost

It proves a valid point though, why bother with previous ranks in a spell book if using them has NO benefit. Rogues/warriors/non mana users all get their old ranks replaced in the book.
  2. Nice I hadn't heard of this game. Looks sweet! keep posting more guys!

    Other Games

Since people have been talking about other games they are enjoying like Warhammer, AoC, etc. List games you are excited about! For me: Spore Fallout 3 Star Wars the Force Unleashed (lolol S.T.F.U.) More gogo! http://fallout.bethsoft.com/images/downloads/avatars/100x100falloutav-ch.gif
  4. Actually I was surprised for all the hype and promises it was making, I guess I just expected something different.
  5. It's cool that the gameplay is a little different because seriously the UI is almost identical to WoW... Like not even trying to be different.... AT ALL...

    Mana Cost

WTF? This is not a bug. In the latest WotLK beta push, we made a large change to the mana cost of spells. All player spells now cost a percentage of base mana rather than a fixed cost. Base mana is a special value determined by the player’s level and class, regardless of any effects or items that increase intellect. It is the size of a player’s mana pool if the player has zero intellect. This change was made primarily to prevent downranking, as it's a technique that was never quite intended. Rather than continue to find ways to penalize players for casting low-rank spells, we decided to essentially make doing so obsolete. If rank 5 and rank 6 of a spell cost the same amount of mana, but rank 6 does more damage/healing, then there is no reason to consider casting rank 5. So, each spell line (eg. Frostbolt, Shadowbolt, Greater Heal, Rejuvenation, etc.) has a fixed percentage of base mana that it costs for most of its ranks. That means each time a player gains a level the cost will go up some. The percentages were picked to attempt to keep the costs relatively similar to what they are currently in World of Warcraft. For most spells, that percentage will drop some when the player receives their highest-rank spell in existing Burning Crusade content. This was done to better fit the existing cost curve, and to keep the mana cost for level 70 players as close as possible to existing costs. Level 70 characters will see most of their maximum rank spells change in cost slightly up or down, but not by significant amounts. We anticipate there being some balance concerns due to this change, and our development staff will be ready to implement new spells, abilities, or talents to resolve those issues as the testing process continues.

  9. AMG smithing useful!? Blacksmithing * Blacksmiths will be able to add sockets to a weapon, Armorsmiths will be able to add a metasocket to armor. Raid-Wide Vampiric Touch We're still in talks about how to consolidate buffs/debuffs between classes. Making VT raidwide is a possibility, but yes it would mean the value of multiple Shadow Priests in a raid is somewhat diminished. In a lot of ways we're okay with that (you shouldn't *have* to have multiple specs of one class in a raid), but there are a lot of other side effects we're not sure about right now Casting interruption changes in WotLK (See this news) If you avoid pushback from the first two hits there is still a chance pushback will occur. This change is simply a guarantee that you will not get pushback more than twice during any cast or channeled spell. Then they changed the names of Enrage/Frenzy/Berserk... Enrage Creatures that used to "Frenzy" like Magmadar, Gluth, Princess Huhuran, Halazzi, etc. now "Enrage" instead. Tranquilizing Shot has been changed to dispel Enrage effects, and the wording on all those spells and associated emotes has been changed to reflect the name change to Enrage. Frenzy Creatures that used to "Enrage", now "Frenzy" instead. This is the type of effect that typically happened at low health or some other combat trigger. Examples of this would be all the Blackrock Orcs in Redridge, Jan'alai's low health/timed increase in damage, Maexxna at low health, etc. These effects are not dispellable, you are meant to deal with the increased damage as part of the fight. Berserk Many of our boss encounters have timers where if you do not defeat the encounter within the allotted time, the boss will suddenly do RADICALLY more damage. Players are not intended to be able to deal with the damage dealt by a Berserk boss, and a wipe should be around the corner. We try not to use the "Berserk" term for nothing else but these kinds of timers.
