  1. Since the atk power normalization, sword rogues also love them. But yeah, hunters can definitely use the atk power.
  2. Mandokir's Sting is the name of the bow. Grats on the spider.

You just kill the fish. Where we fought him, we killed like 3 of those things, and the respawn rate is dismally slow so that we never saw another. Best to have a lock put unending breath on you guys, or you can make greater underwater breathing potions (pretty easy to make). Summon him and hilarity ensues.
  4. Watch them make the reagent stack up to 5 times...lol
  5. Reminds me of when I got 2 of those axes and a lifestone within 48 hours. I almost gave up on epic world drops, but a Brainhacker dropped for us in ZG today. Bear in mind you need to pay for it with tokens (10 or so if I remember correctly). You guys should do ZG. Hakkar's so easy and drops lots of epics, you'll wonder why you didn't farm him sooner!
  6. I'm pretty sure one of the 4 pieces comes from Broodlord (3rd BWL boss), another one comes from the Bronze dragonflight (you started out hated with them, so who knows...probably have to kill one), and I'm not sure where the other two come from (although I wouldn't be surprised if Chronos or whatever that gnome dragon's name is had something to do with it).
  7. Spell penetration...mages are saved once we start farming AQ! ...until then we're still screwed

    OMG I'm SO BORED

    That's so disturbing...
  9. I actually like the old graphic better... It's all purple and glowy and floating rock thingies...

I recommend you summon him in the water...

    Uh oh =(

Probably a capacitor...unless you have a soldering iron and a bit of electronics expertise, this probably won't be an inexpensive repair...
  12. Why are you clicking your buttons in combat?
  13. Meh, 5 FR is a pittance. The atk power is not.

    I didn't see Gahz'ranka
  15. Exalted with ZG tribe: +atk power enchant to shoulders. The 5 FR doesn't mean a damn.
  16. Just an FYI: We geared up Tek for that fight...his gear was so much suckier than Gryphs our first night of attempts, and now I consider them pretty equal. As far as other classes: we have an army of devout wearing benediction toting priests... The locks are well geared. I think the druids have a cenarion piece or two...when they pool their sets together. Mages are mostly around the 4/8 range. Warriors are decently geared. Hunters are decked out (fuckers...). We've invested about 100 fiery/lava cores into the rogues for core leather pieces, all the DIO goes to the guild bank to make DI plate, we farmed the shit out of dragonscales for black dragonscale mail, and we spent around 40 cores on flarecore stuff for various cloth wearers. The rogues/hunters went pretty much max FR for that fight, same with tanks (Tek capped his FR). Mages, locks, and priests went for stats and +dmg/healing rather than FR. After our first night of attempts we decided the FR wasn't worth it. I used those 3 fire pots in the sucessful attempt. Take 1 over 2 minutes before the fight, 1 before sons spawn, and 1 during the 2nd emergence. In all I personally cranked out around 60 fire pots and 30 arcane elixers just for my mages for that fight (even bought the recipe just so I could make them for us) and I know the other classes had somewhat similar stores. Our class balance was rather novel. We tend to favor hunters for any DPS slot. As such we only brought a total of 2 locks and 5 mages to that fight (VERY different from most guilds). Urraca came up with a positioning for the tank and rogues that enabled us to effectively ignore the knockback warnings for our 4th attempt (the 3% one). We brought a lot of flasks. I'm pretty sure the guild bank spent close to 4-500g on flasks alone for that fight. I think only 1 mage had a flask, however, as we went for distilled wisdom for priests and titans for rogues/hunters/warriors. We used a buddy bandage system. You are assigned to a person next to you in your group and you watch them to bandage them if need be. I feel sorry for litleguy because he got me...lol. The best way to down ragnaros is to actually fight him, though. Get off your asses! Btw, roll alliance Xanth! I want to be able to flood your screen with tells when we down a boss! Eminent's a good guild and all, but do you really want to be on the same side as Purple Dragons?
  17. He'll probably get a name change...sigh. In any case: Vehement is sort of feuding with Rage as of right now, so on the one hand I feel sorry, on the other they can go to hell.
  18. Also of note is the ability to scale back spell detail (Vaelastrasz the Corrupt now won't make my computer come to a grinding halt). We actually have a tank pally in Vehement if you can believe it (to this day I don't undersand how he pulls aggro from Tek sometimes...and I myself can't pull aggro from Tek), so wee. Holy shock is now an instant cast nuke OR heal (this may actually make some pallies want to get it for insta-heal abilities on a somewhat short cooldown). As far as the greater blessings...this makes your life so easy you don't need any mods. You have each pally assigned to a single blessing and they group cast it. It applies to a raid, not just a 5-man group if I read it correctly. SO much simpler. I *love* the new sanctuary. Tanks will want it, we use it extensively for panther boss as well. I don't understand why divine shield is given a 1 minute debuff considering it's a 5 minute cooldown and there's no way to change that...The ones you can cast on other people I might understand. It might be a bit irritating to have to whack a monster as a pally to keep the judgement from wearing off, especially in raids and mobs where you want pure ranged dps except for the mt. Don't forget the new alchemy recipe. Watch them give it a 2 day cooldown ftl...lol Mages, I didn't see it in the notes but it was announced in the mage class forums: we are getting 10 waters/cast instead of 4. Now it only coss 1560 mana instead of 3900 to make a stack...as well as taking 9 seconds fewer. I'm so grateful. Also the specific arcanist changes in regards to set bonuses: 3 is +spell dmg, 5 is spell penetration. A worthy change from our additional 54 dmg per fire ward blocked and 15 extra seconds of sheep

Put an explosive charge on the hook. The grouper tries to sit under a rock? Problem solved...
  20. Why don't you guys just run 2 MCs? Surely you have the numbers.
  21. Human beings are very social creatures. In fact our ability to survive is dependent on our society building abilities. Throw a singular human being into the wild and he'll die. Throw 10 000 into the wild and they'll build a city and wipe out the indigenous life forms. That's our strength. Hence, when we see human beings disregarding society (I.E. becoming reclusive as is the case with most addictions when that addiction takes priority over socialization) it seems very weird and unnatural. How many of you would look at someone who never left their house, yet had all their needs provided for, as weird? They are no less sucessful at surviving than any other human being because their needs are met, but we still look at it as inferior. I'm sure that mentality has developed out of necessity from our earlier attempts at survival as a species. One thing that always bothered me though was that the Internet isn't considered socialization from an academic standpoint. The main justification for this is that you yourself are not visible to other people. Rather a persona you create that may be entirely different from your true self is presented for others to interact with. However, I don't necessarily see that as sufficient reason to say MMOs are not social environments. It's sort of like the 1900s with physics: before then we used to think in absolutes. For example if you're on a sled traveling 500 meters per second and you throw a ball forward at 5 meters per second, the ball is traveling at 505 meters per second to anyone on the ground in the "rest frame" (in other words not moving). However, after the 1900s we discovered that regardless of which frame you're in (moving or "rest") we all measure the speed of light to be the *exact* same value. That sort of throws a kink into absolute rest frames since if you turn on a flashlight on that sled from before, then the photons from the light will be traveling at c + 500 (where c is the speed of light). But they don't, they travel at c. We had to redefine physics in relative terms (and as a consequence discovered it's impossible to determine a "rest frame" since no frame is prefered for measurements). That's the sort of revolution I expect social sciences to undergo. There is no "real" person in my opinion. The social interactions we undergo is true socialization are really just a physical act of the exact same thing we do online. We are who we are, and present what we wish to present. Anyway, that's my $0.02 on the subject, I agree that video game addictions exist, but I don't believe they are necessarily a bad thing (except when people don't take care of survival).
  22. Good luck to mages hiding in the game while throwing blizzards and flamestrikes...since we have GIANT GLOWING ORBS on our shoulders and forehead that say "MS here"
