Remember your noobishness?

I was talking to a few friends the other day about way back when WoW came out. Looking back, I can't believe some of the things I used to think/do. I thought it would be funny (and to relieve worktime boredom) to start something like this.

Example:

I didn't know you could eat and drink at the same time until level 30.

I started leveling as a prot pally (until level 42 actually), so I thought...that the best gear was the gear with the most armor. With so much armor, nobody can damage me right? I chose armor over stats v_v

I rolled a paladin. (that's right, I said it).

Post yours!

I used to think that if I tried enough times, I'd be able to move the rested bar to whatever amount I wanted it to be.

Edited for a really bad spelling mistake.

A disclaimer: WoW is my very first game.

That being said, my noobish @$$ thought I had to keep hitting the "T" button to make Enigami hit things with her staff. I thought it made her swing with every punch of that button. I don't know when I figured it out, but I remember my reaction...."OMG! awesome!"

/sigh. Sometimes I do it even now, just to reminisce.

I remember using the arrow keys to move for the longest time, until my brother was like wtf are u doing? he showed me WASD...and then the whole straif (sp?) key thing....zomg....!! yeah Im not left handed either...so obviously I never spent much time on the computer until WoW.

rogues use to kick my ass in duel, until I actually learned how to play hunter against a rogue....ice trap, flare...so on. bahahahaha.....u say its cheap but hell I hate losing .....

My first toon was a warrior and pretty much did the same noob things as you. I had armor of the whale because it had a higher armor rating, used pots to heal myself because I didn't know about food and when I first went into Ashenvale (PvP flagged) I was constantly looking up at the trees for horde to come down. I remember one time seeing something (a bird) flying high above and thinking "Oh shit, he's on me". So I hid behind a tree and shadowmelded a second. Kind of funny how clueless I was, yet still won my first PvP battle vs a rogue trying to gank me. /flex I also remember a guildie letting me borrow 50 silver when I was about level 5. I was so grateful and felt so rich since I was able to buy all the vendor armor/weapons.

Oh and Eni, I remember quite a few people right clicking mobs constantly to attack them.. not knowing about auto attack. So you're not the only one.

Predictably, I could probably write a novel here. I'm generally reminded of my noobishness just about every time I log on.

Makes the game more interesting, imo.

my first character was a tauren druid that i got to level 23. while the servers were down last week, i logged her on.

she was wearing half cloth, half leather, all "of the eagle." her talent points had been wiped but i know she was full resto like lemon. i remember not knowing how to fish. i had leatherworking, but didn't understand how to use the armor kits i made. i took the boat from ratchet to booty bay and asked my friend "why is the zone name in orange?" right before i was shanked in the ass by an alliance rogue.

so i gave up and rolled on div's server so he could protect me. ><

I didnt see Hammer of justice being "very effective" so I didnt learn it origanally, than after talking to Hin, I decided to give it a shot.

At lvl 13 I blew all my money on white armor from a vendor.. since most of it had alot more armor =P

My first spec at lvl 60 was pretty much 17 points in each tree=P I didnt have any 31 point talents until the pally review which put Holy Shield as the 31 point prot talent.

I used to always keep a seal on me, only judged during certain occasions... I never thought to judge SoR as often as I could to get more damage>.>

Ny chest piece from lvl 51ish - 60 was upgrades of "of the bear" gear, I remember every lvl I hit I'd rush off to the AH to see if there was a better "Of the bear" piece.

I never really played a PvP based game since UO and my only memory of UO was...farming chickens so I can sell their feathers, then getting enough gold to buy a kriss and upon exiting the town immediately getting killed and having all my possessions taken from me.

So when me and Hin decided to go to Menethil Harbor, our first venture outside the safety of alliance zone, I immediately thought I'd get ganked by horde. I was surprised we made it to Menethil Harbor alive and considered myself really lucky.

Also, I remember when we went on our first PvP raid as a guild (back when I wasn't FP!) I was around lvl 18 or so and we raided x-roads (which btw even to this day I think of everquest). I thought that the whole island of Kalimdor was horde only and since I was so close to leveling...decided to level in the "horde zone". I was so excited to level in Kalimdor that I took a screen shot of it and also a screen shot of the first mob I killed on the "enemy" territory that dropped loot.

Heh thought of more.

-Silver was very hard to come by for me. I was so happy to be able to afford weapon training, I spent almost all that I had. Back when it was Knights of Anubis the guild was accepting donations from members to get a guild tabard, so I donated 5 silver, 1/2 of what I had. I then later saw some people donated gold, and I was astounded as to how they could have that much.

-Shortly after I got my non-epic mount, I ran around the world exploring. I ran into blasted lands way too early, but saw the dark portal and the demons guarding it. I thought it was an instance, so I figured I can just run as close as possible, bubble, and get in there. No such luck. Ran through the portal and died horribly. I went from 100% to 0% trying to get my body back, because I didn't want res sickness.

I remember fishing up a 2 pairs of green boots in the beta, and I thought that as soon as the game came out I would fish in storm wind as much as I could, getting great gear while getting and making food at the same time, cause you know...paladins need to eat often to regain their health.

Also I used to think Divine Intervention was the dumbest spell ever created. Sacrifice myself so that someone else lives for 3 min?! What a load of shit, we're better off trying our best together until we both die. It wasn't until an UBRS run that I saw someone use it and realized it takes the player out of combat. Thanks for not explaining that in the tooltip Blizz!! xD

The money thing is relative to everyone I think. I remember one time when Thornblade (Katra), Ratava, Retsnimle and I were leveling in Red Ridge and some high level asked us if we could summon him. We did, and he gave us all a few silver, and I just couldn't believe he would pay SO much for nothing! I always like seeing people who are new to the game around like level 10 or so, barely able to buy skills each level, and giving them 1 gold. They go crazy, every time.
