A WHOLE NEW WOOOOOOORLD

I actually sang this with a girl named Jessica Cierra in my 5th grade talent show... Little did we know when we went in, but 3 other groups sang it before we did lol.

"We had hoped that the introduction of some new Honor rewards in the upcoming patch would give players a great opportunity to spend any of their remaining Honor. However, many players would still be surprised by an Honor and token reset as it isn’t something we’ve done in the past. As such, we've decided to not reset Honor or tokens upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King. Players who save their Honor will be able to spend it on level 80 rewards, although those rewards will be significantly more expensive than their level 70 counterparts."

Yup, I was saving mine. I kinda figured that the nerd rage wave would make them reverse their decision, at the very least I thought they would make S3 purchasable with honor.

I think they are supposed to bump up the cost of honor items at 80 while increasing the honor you get, so stockpiling now might be less worthwhile.

I think that I'll keep my honor points into season 2 or season 3 of the new x-pac and get some 2nd or 3rd level pvp gear.

The new (to me?) buzz yesterday was that they were going to do away with twinking by giving experience in BGs... I would imagine that idea would be even less popular though...

(Well, to people who actually PvP anyway, as opposed to the rtards who show up in WSG at L11... lol)

We've revaluated certain aspects of how the arena system and current arena season will be affected during both the next content patch, and the launch of Wrath of the Lich King. For starters, the current arena season will end in respect to the ladder upon the release of our next major patch. What this means is, we'll be taking a snapshot of the current season's ladder just before the realms are taken down for patch maintenance, and our normal process will commence to determine who is eligible for the end-of-season rewards. Teams and ratings will not be wiped at that time, and will carry forward allowing players to earn points each week (and buy gear) until the launch of the expansion on November 13th. Almost immediately before Wrath of the Lich King releases, all arena teams as well as ratings will be wiped and arena charter NPCs disabled.

Well S4 certainly lasted for a short time..

I'd rather have an honor reset than more expensive items.

They are more expensive because you get more honor at 80. Also they all seem to have an arena points requirement. I may just buy a few pieces to help me level.

At this point if they are letting us keep honor, it'd help more to jsut hold onto it so you don't have to work it back up in crap gear.

I remember when S2 hit, I think I grabbed 2 arena pieces and 3-4 honor items. Makes it really easy even though Blizz is trying to avoid such a gear jump with honor/mark/arena cappers.

i wish it wasnt so easy for people just to sit in BG queues for weeks and get reasonable epic quality items, then come to my pug instance groups and suck ass cause all they do is pvp all day which is much like playing a FPS. run in, do dmg, die, respawn, rinse, repeat.

I totally agree Erlin. I'm more of a pve person myself and I believe that if you want actual pvp for play a FPS or *gasp* a sport.

However, I was bored this spring and had just finished leveling my warrior. So I decided to do the honor grind. It took me about 6 weeks of hours and hours of BGing to collect like 150k honor and marks. After that I experience I have just a slight bit more respect for people in full pvp gear, not much, but a little :P

most people in full pvp gear are good players. its the little kids who get like season 2 gear from honor grinding, going to AB, typing in all caps, and cant say anything without the word F@#K in it.

Funny thing...This is what I always thought of raiding

But seriously, that's why I spend most of my time doing world PvP; The real challenge is being able to adapt adverse and unpredictable situations with often unconventional solutions.

FPS vs. WoW? Meh, the concept of 'PvP' is so different and environmental elements as well as mechanics don't even really allow for decent comparison.

If you love PvP you love PvP. If not, what can I say? It's in most MMOs on some levels so obviously the draw is there.

Although, I must admit PUG BGs/gear are about as useful a benchmark of 'skill' as raids where some people sat AFK in MC/BWL/AQ/BT/blah/blah/etc/etc to roll on epics after their guildmates did all the real work.

I'll try to not hold this against you. =)

Both PvP and PvE has its freeloaders that really don't contribute or have any skill. But you can usually always tell the top notch players from the wanna-bes. I always preferred PvP because it puts your skill up against other players and not a static AI. That's not to say some players are any better than the Cat and Dog running around Blacksmith.

I miss SC only queues.

With WotLK coming out, I don't believe PvP will play the biggest role, Therefor if honor does get reset, It doesn't matter in my books. I personally believe that it's gonna be a end game race. What I mean is it will see who can down the Lich King first. Why? Because there's been rumors floating around that their will only be one frostmourne per server. What that means is that progression will need to come first. Also, That frostmourne is just deadly.

With that being said... I've heard money in WotLK will be insansly corrupted. Kill 50 boars for this quest and get like... 50g?

With the honor we have in the meantime... Thankfully I only need my 45 Resil Trinket and I'm done :-P

that was my point i wasnt bashing the good PvPer's at all or PvPer's in general just the AFker's, bad players, and people who run to stables flag when its obvious they are gonna die instead of going around.

these people just do this for weeks to get the measely honor they can then they can buy, what i think is decent gear, then they try to pve and its joke cause they don't have any clue of what their classes abilities are or what they can do.

the seasoned pvp vet knows the ins and outs of his classes talents, the best time to use them, and can pvp like a game of chess knowing what moves the other person will do depending on the situation.

thats why people like joe can tank an heroic 2h arms spec and ecth can tank ret spec with decent healers, pvp is like the true class training if you're good at it.

pvp helps you understand things like, can i do this when something is feared or snared, or when i do this will it break this, or can i do this while this is happening, stuff you can also do in a raid but at a much higher price of wasted consumables and repair bills.

sorry i derailed this thread, i just hate the pvp vs. pve drama and dont want it to be thought that im anti-pvp i just suck at it and i know it, lol.

And I wish I had gotten to participate in more of them.
