gilgalad 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 The Transformers... Great movie? Hell no. Awesome movie? Hell yes. It certainly wasn't Shakespeare, but man was it fun as hell! Lots of splodies, and a chick so hot that she could successfully cancel out Shia LeDouche. For the sequel I want to see less puny humans and more robot splodies! Oh, and the original Ang Lee Hulk movie was GREAT. It was a serious film that portayed the character accurately and deeply, Hulk dogs notwithstanding. gilgalad 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Oh helllllll no. That movie was great. 3 dimensional characterizations, a great plot, heartbreaking scenes of loss - that scene with his mom getting stabbed almost had me in tears -and a big green dude smashing the hell out of military hardware in a brilliantly arranged action sequence with clever wipes clearly evocative of comic books. Ang Lee's Hulk was a great film.

Vanin 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2008 The first Hulk movie wasn't good because no one wants to see Hulk fight his arch nemesis "daddy issues". Save that for Dr. Phil Presents: Hulk. What attracts people to see a comic book movie is simple action sequence with a loosely tied storyline having to do with getting said powers to cause even more havoc. You want to know more about the Hulk, then read the comics...there's all sorts of fluff there. Should be know why Banner has the Hulk and about his emotional trauma? Sure. Yet, it shouldn't overpower the movie. A Hulk movie isn't suppose to be a green man is struggling to overcome issues from his childhood while trying to be accepted by society. That's a character study, and really...there is no need to have a HUGE green giant to be part of that character study. There are tons of movies about kids dealing with their family issues as they grow up...yet none of them have a HUGE GREEN GUY in it. You know why? It doesn't add anything to plot. Yet, if you choose to have a HUGE green giant, then please give him something to fight that's an actual physical entity, especially in a movie based on a comic book (which mostly has to do with Hulk fighting and smashing stuff) The second movie seems to be heading in the right direction. Introduce the psychological issues as the basis for the transformation, mixed with some gamma rays (or TMNT ooze) and BAM...huge green dude and fights another huge dude ... with lots of explosions. It's like if they decided to do a Transformers Movie, but the plot being how lonely it is for a robot to be on a planet where everyone rejects them and fears them. No fights, other than the emotional trauma of a robot who has emotions and is "so human" while the humans are so "robotic". I think the new Hulk looks good and I enjoyed the Transformer's movie. Coeus 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2008 It always confuses me when people bash a movie like Transformers, The Incredible Hulk (the bad one from a couple of years ago) and Fantastic Four. They are (obviously) based on comic books/cartoons and all the 'stupid' in the movies is there to be true to the original format. If you didnt like the Transformers cartoon why would you see the movie? And if you did like the cartoon, wouldnt you be dissapointed if it was completely different? I think Transformers was awesome. Maybe the story was weak but I'm pretty sure it was what it had to be to set up the 20 sequels they are planning to make. I will definitely be seeing the next one. I liked the transformers cartoon, but I was a kid....watching a cartoon. The same level of humor doesn't really strike a chord with me now, hence why I feel the movie was too corny at times. But again, overall I think it was mildly entertaining. Big robots, explosions, etc. It's. I actually did find Shia to be pretty funny, but it's the dialog between the transformers (and that annoying little decepticon especially) that killed it for me. Sauceboss 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 My BIGGEST flaw with the hulk was pretty much voiced by the great one. The Hulk is AWESOME, but ONE of the things that makes the hulk the hulk is that he's an unstoppable, crazed psycho machine waiting to go nuts. If ANYONE remembers the orginal avengers comics the first serious villian was the HULK. This is what is starting the rumor for what the new hulk movie is leading up to. Look at all the people in marvel who has movies now. We just got Iron man. We only need to add a few more to the list before magic! THIS IS MY NERDY I CAN'T WAIT FACE!
