Doesn't look like it was too bad. But also the fact he has his real SSN everywhere and it only happened once "kinda" I think speaks highly. I think it would have been funny if all his credit was effed over ^_^

IT wasnt just once. He's had it happen multiple times over the past couple years. He's been sued for false advertising I think, cuz it's bogus.

All they do is check your credit reports, something you can do on your own, and for free. it shouldn't be advertised as a identity theft deterrent so much, but as an insurance policy to cover you if/when it happens.

As the owner has found out, no matter how secure you make something, the ingenious members of our society will always find a way to break it.

iirc from the CNBC story yesterday, he's had his identity stolen ~14 times, and some of their clients are sueing (I guess for misleading advertising or marketing.)

Peolpe charge for free services all the time. Solutions to 99% of computer problem can be solved with a lil research and yet how many ppl pay a "specialist" hundreds of dollars to do what anyone can do themselves.
