To answer both questions, I guess it took a few minutes for them to kill me. I was in the tram leveling up Bows/Guns/2h Swords on my twink. I decided to level up Defense at the same time, put Scorpid Sting on a few rats so they'd beat me while I was killing their brothers. Yes, they will attack you if you do something like that to aggro them but not kill them. So, my A.D.D. kicked in and I was looking something up on teh intarnets and... well...
