    Overclocking

Hmm I see we can't esit messages.. oh well. I have a sleeping P4 waiting for a new MOBO. the thing is that I dont know if the CPU works. The MOBO seems like scrap tho. whenever I plug the 12v plug the PSU wont work nemore. so I thought the MOBO is off duty. I dont know the speed of the CPU either since I never ran it. Ill need to buy a new Motherboard (socket 478), new RAM (since anything is running under DDR these times, and all I have is PC100/133...) and probly a new video card if the mobo Ill buy is PCI-E. Would you recommend me eBay for this kind of stuff? I went on eBay yesterday for fun and I was amazed at all the stuff that can be found there.

    Overclocking

bah. try to find a P3 cooler these times ^^; Also, the increasements I wanna do ain'T much doing heat with my CPU... original state at 34C stable and 40C under load... if I can get a clock that works fine at 38C, it should heat at 45C max...

    Overclocking

I wanna overclock my CPU. And I am asking for some help please CPU Pentium3 550E MHz (100MHz FSB x 5.5 multiplier, 1/3 PCI Clock/CPU FSB Clock, 1.600voltage) RAM 448 Mb Ram @ 100MHz (128Mb, 64Mb, 256Mb, and they should run at PC100MHz) GPU ATI Radeon 7500 AGP 64Mb @ 2x AGP Motherboard ABIT BE6-II v1.1 (aka BF6) Windows XP Profesionnal I have tried to overclock it from my original state to 115 x 5.5 (633MHz) with 1/3 PCIClock and my comp rebooted just before it entered Windows. 121 x 5.5 (667MHz) with 1/4 PCIClock = Same thing. Also tried 100 x 6.5 (650MHz) with 1/3 PCIClock, but my BIOS recognised 733MHz for some reason and my comp rebooted like 5 seconds after starting loading Windows (still not in Windows). Same thing happened when I tried to use the 133 x 5.5 with 1/4 PCIClock to gain my true 733MHz, same thing happened. I also tried to use the 133 x 5.5 with 1/4 and 1.650V (a guy used that on his comp and it was running stable), nothing to change ; still rebooting. I am getting desperated, as I want to gain some performance for this crappy comp.. :S I also happens to have the benchmarkings of my comp : CPU Score : 1460 MEMORY Score : 1278 (PCMark2002) And about temperatures and other settings of my MOBO.. (oC = degree celcius) Motherboard is set to beep when CPU gets to 70oC, and to shut down at 75oC. 550 MHz = 34oC idle, 40oC loaded 633 MHz = 35oC idle 667 MHz = 38oC idle 650 MHz (733MHz) = 40oC idle 733 MHz = 40oC idle 733 MHz/1.65V = 38oC idle Here is a link to a *french* site that contains many overclocking choices with my cpu.. dont worry bout the language, it should be okay. And my MOBO chipset is a i440BX. http://www.hardware.fr/myocdb.com/processeur110.html Any ideas to get a stable computer that will run under Windows XP?? Any tips, suggestions or anything related to this, please post it here or send me e-mails at imfrost@gmail.com thanks alot!
