I don't have a problem with caring more about those things. But I do think that it should factor in your decision. Especially considering that the war on drugs figures into the reason why the economy is in the dumps - we are spending ourselves into oblivion. Of course, it's nowhere near on the scale of the costs attributed to the war, but (imo) we need to cut everywhere we can. Or you can look at it this way. Spending less money in the long run can go beyond making our recent tax cuts permanent; less tax means more money in your pocket. For the record: I've smoked pot several times. It was enjoyable, but I've never felt compelled to do it regularly. It didn't make me stupid. I didn't try and fly by jumping off a building, nor did I engage in any (further) illegal behavior. People that demonize pot are retarded. It is no more (arguably less) harmful than alcohol and tobacco. It should be treated just like alcohol with respect to driving - you drive under the influence, your ass is done. However, I do not think that people who buy and sell it should be thrown in prison where my money can subsidize their existence. Those who think that OMG ITS ILLEGAL FOLLOW THE RULES should do some research to see just why it was made so.

With the amount of money thrown out the window on keeping potheads in prison, I would think you guys would be a little more concerned.

You could always vote for Ron Paul; I think he's the only one remaining that would push for decriminalization.

Ubuntu is super easy to install for the most part, unless you have hardware that isn't commonly supported. Chances are everything will work right off the bat. If the off chance something isn't working right, I'm sure the gurus here can find you a solution quickly. I found that any problem I had could be solved with 5 minutes of googling and fiddling in the console anyway.

Yeah I kinda want to vote in the Florida primaries, since it matters more, but I don't think it's possible... we have closed primaries and I don't think I could just show up with my driver's license and vote... if that's not true, please tell me otherwise! I don't know a lot about McCain except that he's pretty brash, can you give me a few arguments as to why I should consider him?

I think you misunderstand my use of the word "uneducated" Kevin. Nowhere did I insinuate somebody of a particular political ideal is uneducated. Thinking the current administration is conservative is a fallacy. I don't see any way to argue against that. And then there are the party name voters. Voting for a candidate simply because of a party affiliation is ridiculous, and I think my statement stands. I'll read the rest later... <3

I'd say being a crappy/immoral human being supersedes any political positions. At least for me. If you want to check out her stances / voting record, read OnTheIssues. What I don't like: - pro affirmative action - opposes death penalty - gun control - voted to give illegal aliens social security - anti school vouchers What I do like: - supports alternative energy - steam cell research - anti mandatory minimum sentences So what it boils down to, for me, is that I have the opportunity to vote for somebody with similar views, more experience, and less skeletons in the closet. So why would I want to vote for Hillary? As far as hating her; I'm not sure how many educated people actually hate her. That's a pretty strong sentiment. But I think the reasons for a strong dislike are evident. Sadly, there are a lot of uneducated people out there. People that still think that the Bush administration was conservative. People that would vote for Bush again if they had a chance just to spite the democrats. I think that for those people, Hillary really embodies their idea of a quintessential democrat. And they hate that.

Really? Nearly every adult I talk to politics about hates her with a passion. Granted, I don't talk to a ton of dems, but the ones that I do don't like her either. I think a lot of it comes down to her husband, and of course the Whitewater scandal. I don't see her having the integrity to turn this country around.
