Hehe, a coworker showed me that few days ago. When i worked in customer service for comcast we get atleast one call like that per week. Last week i listened into a call where a customer was telling this agent he believes terrorist are hijacking his modem and sending profanities through it. Hes been calling in atleast 3 times a day for the past month according to the notes on his account.

i was thinking afterwards, port scan probably wouldnt work as it will scan your computer to see if your ports are open. Even if your ports are open, program wouldnt beable to tell if the server your connecting to has blocked specific ports.

try doing a port scan for ports 3724, 6112, 6881-6999. These ports are used by world of warcraft. Maybe the proxy server has these ports blocked

Gryph is right. If your thinking about joining the gaming industry, prepare to devote most of your day to the job. Not as simple as going there, playing and creating games. deadlines have to be met, so your their till you get the work done. My friend was a programmer who got a job developing software for gps. He went from working 40 hours a week to 65-70 hours a week. He basically worked/eat and slept. He eventually quit and i was offered the position. The money was awesome, but he was drained mentally nd so i declined. Definitly research the job and possibly talk to current employees working there before applying for the job. The "cool factor" of the job ends after the first week. you have to enjoy what your doing and be prepared to work long hours if you plan on making that your career.
