  1. For what it's worth, I helped heal a PUG ToGC(25) that Evil Chemistry was leading a few weeks back. It wasn't a terribly successful pug, and there seemed to be a good bit of immaturity involved. In addition the general attitude some of the people involved had was fairly negative and very condescending. However, it seemed like Thristen (and Mastashake too) was one of the stand outs from his guild, and did a really good job through it all.

He was pretty easy to heal, as a tank and seemed quite capable where that's concerned. I've never raided with or had any other experiences with his shaman, but his pally seemed worth recruiting from where I sat.

  2. For what it's worth, I was in a PUG ToGC25, on my priest, with this guy last weekend. Despite the fact that there was a good amount of fail in the raid and a large amount of immaturity, he seemed to have his head on straight. He did good damage, seemed to be situational aware and even helped the raid's leader gain a bit of control over the (seemingly) unruly group of 10yr olds that were apparently playing the game for the first time.

Overall, he seemed to be a nice guy and appeared to know how to fill his role well. It was somewhat refreshing to hear someone in a vent during a failing PUG who was not screaming, cussing and belittling at every turn. Seems like a worthy player from my experience, albeit limited.

  3. Since I frequent your forums, and generally enjoy trolling and reading the content here, I've given a little something as well. It's not much, but hopefully it will help.

I've never actually thought about doing this on the Lucid site, I always just assumed people would be too cheap to contribute. I should put one up and see what the response is like.

  4. JOEY! Tell these people the /hump is my trademark! :(

    The impersonators are multiplying!

Also...to not completely derail this, I have to say that filling out an application entirely, and with as much information as possible is a large part of getting in to a lot of guilds. Having been part of some seriously hardcore raiding guilds, I can say that those things don't matter quite as much there as in many cases no one cares who you are, what makes you tick, what you enjoy outside of the game, or how willing you might be to divulge information about your self. However, in the case of Lucid (and I think FP shares a similar view) our guild is as much, or MORE about the community, the friendships and the people. While we take raiding seriously, and like to get things done, it's all about the family.

Hell, Lucid has been around forever. We're one of very few guilds on this server who regularly has get togethers all over the country. Even during the year and a half that Lucid was not an "official" raiding guild we still managed to organize guild meets at least 3 times a year. FP has a very similar family-like community, and that is why they care so much about the people they allow into it. You're not applying for a spot in a raid, a piece of loot, or a reputation on the server for being in the "best" guild by progression's standards. Quite frankly it's a privilege to have such a tight community open their doors to you. I personally would have trouble believing that someone who is a very private person and carries an "I'm here to raid, not to make friends" attitude could make it my guild. I obviously have no right to judge applicants here, and by no means am I saying that such an individual couldn't "make it" in FP, but I think you'll find that their sense of community and family is the reason they're so interested in getting to know people. I'd also venture to bet that the reward for opening up to them, even just a little, and becoming part of that family will be well worth the effort.

    Just my $.02

  5. I really want Skoll on my hunter, but I'm far too lazy to ever actually get it. I've spent a fair amount of time camping spawns and checking spawns for all of them, but eventually just gave up. They're definitely rare, I wouldn't be surprised to see someone get all three over a long period of time, but to do so in one night is quite an accomplishment. Not to mention REALLY lucky.

I actually saw you in Dal with Skoll last night, and thought "Hmm...I have no idea who that hunter is." Then saw what I thought was the same FP hunter again a while later with Gondria and thought "Surely that's not the same hunter." I guess it was. :)

Even though Blizzard won't give you achievement points for it, it's still pretty awesome.

  6. I have yet to talk to a single person that owns a Storm that doesn't absolutely hate it. The second generation one I hear is supposed to be better, but the one out now really is terrible. >.>

    *Raises Hand*

I have a Storm, and I've actually been quite pleased with it. It serves my purposes well, and I've yet to have any problems out of it. The only slightly drawback, from my perspective, was getting used to the touch screen - as it's much different than the one on my LG Voyager was prior.

All in all, I have no complaints. In addition, I think the VZ Navigator is one of the better Navigation options among the cellular providers. My recommendation would be to go play with the Storm for a good while in the store before making a decision. It certainly isn't for everyone, and there is absolutely a ton of negative feedback from some people. Regardless of what phone you buy, try before you buy. I'd imagine that different phones and their functions feel differently to everyone. :)
