How many people did they interview? How many questions did they ask each person? Were questions asked in the same way? Once someone answers too many questions correctly do they move on to the next person?

 

Scientifically I don't think this video could prove that the general American population is stupid. It does prove that people can be found and they are more than willing to answer questions with incorrect answers.

 

It is not hard to say, "I don't know." Intelligent people don't answer the question if they don't know the answer.

 

I think it is too easy to take a camera to someone and when they say, "I don't know," to a question, make them guess and they will sound like an idiot no matter what the guess.

This can be done with any random population from any country. You interview enough people and if they give you decent answers, take them out of context. The whole "Who would you invade next?" could have been easily done by just skipping ahead to a different question and then editing it. Also like Kev said, they were asking people to guess. With that said, if that guy really thinks our next country to invade would be Italy.. then lol.

 

Btw, I do think some Americans are dumb. I'm sure one of them will be posting in this thread shortly enough.

Yeah, because it is soo hard for any american to aim justified steriotypes at people from outside their nation.

I could stereotype a lot of people from many nations its pretty simple. Canadians and their flapping heads (thats a South Park reference). Russians and their drunkin' antics. British and their crooked teeth messy hair and pasty white skin (like mine). Stereotypes are fun and nonsensical, I'm just disappointed that the USA is stuck with stupidity.

i'm more disapointed in the channel that aird this report, Jay Leno's been doing this bit like once a week every night on a popular late night U.S talk show for a long time. All that was was comedy not news... It's very easy to find stupid ppl if you ask enough questions. On a side note i'm American and i laugh at stupid U.S ppl all the time. The guy whois "who is throwing the rocks" is my new hero btw

The sad truth of the matter is I showed this video to one of my co workers because I laughed so hard and then they began to debate with me that America is not a country that starts with "U". I said o.k. United States of America. Then they said no it would be "The United States of America" and that it really is just America. So I looked at them and said U.S.A.? And they gave me the bird and walked away.
