Me and my boss both got Vista so we could learn the tricks and the insides before we released it to 100 poor unsuspecting souls.

Eesh...

Don't be surprised if some resource intensive apps actually run slower.

Like Bentley, I'll probably get it soon just so I can 'support' it for my clients, but my default has been to warn them off of it till SP1 comes out.

Yeah, I'm running Vista as well. WoW (and most games in general) actually run worse on Vists than they do on XP right now. That should be fixed as soon as the drivers mature a little bit though.

yeh, it isn't that big of a deal. I was kinda forced into it, so might as well toy with it till they fix the stuff I am sure I am going to find broken

Oh, don't get me wrong, I love Vista! It will get better and better as the new drivers are written and released! Congrats on your new purchase!

How easy is the upgrade from XP? or does it even let you upgrade at all without wiping the drive?

I heard something about restrictions on the number of installs you can do... any merit to this... like it cuts you off after you have installed it 3 times on your machine. Makes no sense to me, but that's the rumor I'm hearing.

Actually it's the opposite of that, and that's the bad thing. If you install the Upgrade you actually have to install it on top of XP. You can't do it from a fresh drive/partition. Not only does that make for a more messy install from what I read, but if you ever have to reinstall Windows for any reason, you'll have to install your old XP first, then Vista after that.
