PS2- Final Fantasy XII

Classic Final Fantasy game. You get your unlikely hero, who runs across some trouble and ends up saving the world.

 

Graphics: I expected a little bit more but the game still holds true to the FF graphics standard. Everything looks breathtakingly beautiful. And the seizure causing burst of colours have not gone away.

 

Controls: Other than the awkward camara control (it is backwards from what you'd expect), the game is pretty smooth.

 

Story: Final Fantasy story, nothing more nothing less. I have always found the FF stories cheesy but I like the game, and they have that "gotcha" kind of twists which are ok. Nothing too mayorly wrong here.

 

Gameplay: Holy crap no more random encounters! They removed the random encouters and instead you can pick your fights much like youd pick your fight in WoW. The turn system remains the same and so did the UI. They even got "talents" kind of thing going on, but there aren't enough to make your each character trully unique.

oh, and you can unlock HEYDOKEN!!!!! kind of moves

 

Go pick it up, sure is fun.

 

8 out of 10 and worth the moneys, specially if you are a fan of FF

I've got the game but haventr tried it yet. Before it came out I was really worried about it being bad, but havent heard a bad thing about it so far.

It is a really good game. I've got 90 hours put into the game and I'm pretty sure I"m only a little more than halfway done.

Ill do an actually reveiw of this game shortly, but as for now... Wow.. Iam fully and totally impressed by it. The combat, the story telling, the graphics, even the characters have me captivated.

I'll look forward to that. One of things I'm really impressed with lately are all the guides/reviews/walkthroughs people have been writing for our peers to read. Its really great to see the effort and writing from everyone

I guess I'm one of the few who enjoyed the turn based combat moreso then this "real-time" combat. I'm not too far into the game to judge the story though and maybe the combat clicks once you get to a certain stage...so far though...I just don't like it.

Someone needs to fire up a BBS so we can put Exitilus on it.

I still perfer the turn based combat, but this is alot better than the demo was.

I guess I'm the weird one, cuz for me... I really didn't think it was all that great. Everyone I know loves it but it doesn't really do anything for me... I get bored really easily. lol but I would still suggest picking it up XD

I too am a BIG fan of the turn based stuff, old school ftw. That doesn't make XII's battle system bad though, just a little different.

 

And honestly it's a different that I have come to really like.
