On Our Wedding Day

 

 

The question was so hard for me;

I was not sure of what to say,

but you said "Yes", and soon we will be

joined together on our wedding day.

 

The days are short and there's much to plan;

everything has to be okay.

Guest lists, brides maids, and all the rest

must be ready for our wedding day.

 

The sun is out and blessing all

with it's light and warmth today.

The only thing in the room more beautiful

is you coming down the isle on our wedding day.

 

We wrote our vows to each other

on how we will forever stay.

Exchange the rings and say "I do",

and now we are joined on our wedding day.

 

We leave the church in anticipation

of the island we have chosen to lay.

A night of passion and ecstacy

awaits us after our wedding day.

 

I wake to find myself alone;

returned to the confines of my home.

I shed my tears and yearn for you

and wish you shared my love so true.

 

I lay back down and start to pray

that some day will be our wedding day.
