Tribute Stealth runs : we start when you want

A long time ago there was a post on WoW forums from this horde Rogue who explained how his guild could stealth run Tribute in....SEVEN MINUTES.

Yes, with the full loot and all.

There was even a video but back then I was the only rogue in my guild so I didn't even watch it.

 

Anyway, I decided to give it a try and yesterday, Stimpak and I spent 2 hours practicing the concept.

 

This is awfully difficult and the learning curve is very, very steep.

The first problem is to bypass the dogs until we open the inner dungeon door.

Then the problem are mostly the Eyes of Killrog. You miss one and you can directly reset the instance because you're screwed.

 

Anyway...after dying maybe 20 times we believe that we're ready to put that to full test with a rogue/druid party.

 

Why would we want to do this ?

 

-Rogue/druid loot : for rogues you have a great Ring (Tarnished Elven Ring) and a top trinket (counter attack lodestone)

 

Plus we get a chance to obtain the Ace of Warlords and class books

If it makes you feel any better they changed the layout of DM north fairly recently. They added and shifted guard positions. Hell, you used to be able to get to the bugs in the inner courtyard by only fighting 1 group of mobs.

i was actually just wondering if it was possible after doing a tribute run this weekend. i would be up for giving it a shot.

Ok forever tell me when and where and im ready to die for ya to see if it can be done

I'm on generaly early morning , like 6-9 am. I have a 60 rogue and a 60 druid (friends-but he quit) and I'm gamne any morning if it fits your schedule. Usually have a few rogues i can call on at that time of the morning as well. There's about 6 I know that play alot at this time as well.

Someone posted that you can just farm the dusty tome at the beginning of the DM North.

Basically you just keep resetting the instance until you see the dusty tome and then pick up one of the books. I'd give my left nut to any rogues and druids who might want to try getting the Quel Serrar book for me I'm willing to bet you could make a lot of cash selling all the other class books you would get too!

hey gryph, did you by any chance watch the video that someone posted? we could tag team that so easily, cuz i still dont understand how they didnt get interupted while opening the book? anyways, im down for that whenever you are. l33t swords ftw!

I didn't see the book, but I'd be willing to go with anyone. I just need to get that timeworn mace until I can get quel.

No need to farm the quel serrar book for me anymore. Heliacon, Aelora, Skee, and Ceridia helped me farm it tonight using the technique in that video from the WoW forums. It took about 3 hours total. I'm not sure if we were just really lucky, or if thats how the technique works. Now I just need to kill Ony again!

These books should be easily farmable by a stealth duo. If you need more details, just ask me and I'll show you how to do it!

You were lucky because the time to spend before a drop can easily be around.....20 to 40 hours

 

To give you an idea, when we tried with Stimpak, we didn't see a single Tome over maybe 40 resets

And getting the Book that Gryph got is, if I'm not mistaken, a less than 1% drop chance off that Tome

 

I'm really glad you managed to get it before having time to lose hope.

 

Note for Teahnprime : you can open the tome because you fear the trees

A rogue can't do it alone

Intimidating shout : causes all enemies but your current target to run away in fear, leaving only the one enemy to attack. So, thats how i dont get how he didnt get interrupted while opening the tome, unless the tree's attack speed > 3 seconds, i really dont know how the hell that happened.
