Haha, I spent a lot of last night on the Wii website and elsewhere reading about it, during out breaks in-between attempts. I'm so getting one first day.

WII sounds cute. like every of the Nintendo consoles. I am more of a PS guy. And since I do not have the money to buy both, I am gonna have to pass on the WII. Not that it makes me happy doing so.

Mark my words, PS3 will fail in 2008 when it finally comes out.

Siege being poor = buying a Wii. PS3 is WAYYYY overpriced, and the Xbox is still more expensive.

Base model xbox is only $50 more i think. Which is pretty sad. I was really hoping the Wii would be at $200. :-\

 

It seems that they decided they actually wanted to make a profit on the consoles, though. Unlike Microsoft and Sony who are accepting huge amounts of loss on the sets and don't expect to turn a profit til after mid to late 2008 (for microsoft, much much later for sony i assume).

in the press conference for the wii they are releasing it in japan i think nov 19th for about 2500 yen or whatever equals about $212 USD

That's $230 US, or so I read. It's releasing the same day in the US for $250, but ours includes Wii Sports. The Jap version does not include any bundled games.

N64 took a price cut right before the launch and also I bet Wii will go to around $200 around Spring or right before summer

I cant wait for mine, Wario Ware is one hellova game. Vanin is spot on about the nunchucks. I give myself a good five minutes before I end up on the floor cringing in pain.

I'm still considering getting one, although I was hoping it would cost around $200. I don't really care about Wii sports, and I also don't see how it can be worth $50. I think I'll actually have to play with the new controller before I can make a decision.

A lot of the attraction for me in Wii is playing the Old School games. Either way, PS3 is something I have to save up for while wii is a paycheck.

Wii will launch in Japan on Dec 2 not in Nov like NA. there's a good chance smash bros on Wii will be online, maybe we can have some prophet on prophet action!

Wii Sports isn't worth $50 and if it's available separately I doubt it'll be that much, which is why it's bundled together.

 

It was designed mostly for practicing all the ways inwhich you can use the new controller.

 

And yeah, the old school games are FTW and what I'm looking forward to most aside from Zelda and Mario Galaxies.

If only it didn't have Gamecube graphics : P

msnbc had the price quoted at 299 i think for the wii and maybe 2 games or something like that.

 

expect a price drop when halo3/ps3 comes out. If the 360+halo sells for the same price as the base ps3, it only makes good marketing sense
