stangmeister 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2006 This post is pretty kick ass.. It goes on to explain that no, there is no such thing as "seeding" a raid or having it matter who entered the instance first or if its at a tuesday at 3pm if you dance on the chain it makes different loot drop. Very well done. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.a...p=1#post8082768 However, half of me still thinks it matters who makes the group. =P

Hykos 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2006 I meant to post this link a while back. It's a former Euro GM answering peoples questions on the Something Awful forums. http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthrea...40&pagenumber=1(his last post was almost two weeks ago, so I think he's done with replying.) Here's his responce in regards to loot tables. The loot tables are always debated. Basically you can tell what loot will drop before the mob is killed (with the GM interface) this means loot is generated from the loot tables before the mob is actually killed. I would say the loot is generated the moment you enter the instance for the first time. Loot is then assigned to each mob. The actual items are then created only once they have been looted to a character. Loot tables will work something like this: Loot Table 1 50% Item 1 30% Item 2 20% Item 3 Loot Table 2 50% Item 1 30% Item 2 20% Item 3 Loot Table 3 50% Item 1 30% Item 2 20% Item 3 Faction Loot Table 50% Item 1 30% Item 2 20% Item 3 The Master Loot table will be 100% Loot Table 1 50% Loot Table 2 50% Loot Table 3 100% Faction Loot Table As you can hopefully see, if you wanted an item in loot table 3 you would have the % chance of that loot table being used then the % chance that that item from that loot table drops. There will always be a faction loot table to differentiate between horde/alliance loot for things like Shammies and Paladins. I hope you can follow that...
