For some reason I can't actually see currency or items in online gaming being taxed. If they are, I see the swift downfall of online gaming.

dude... if the dam government tries to tax me on something that isnt even real, when the only reason im obtaining said item is for sheer entertainment; then the frustration caused by the loss of said money through said taxes would eradicate all traces of said entertainemnt and thus i would decisevly quit said online games.

 

... in other words, if they try to touch me im going to kick them in the balls.

As stated in the article, taxing your avatar's assets is insane. What is more likely, and something I'm not entirely opposed to, would be to tax those that buy/trade/sell virtual possesions for real world $.

 

Such as "Buy 1000g for $34.95" or the recent sale of Wray's account.

 

It is not feasable to tax boss drops in game. It is however compeltely feasable to tax someone selling a GBS on ebay.
