Where do you work?

I work in a datacenter, more specifically a network engineer (firewalls, routers, encryption, etc). Garnok sits about 10' from me and luci around the corner.

 

Here's a scary thought, Joe and I are 25% of the Data Center Staff.

We got busted by the chief of operation of the company for playing a network java version of scorched earth. He was more shocked that we were playing a game that was so old than anything else.

Other networking guy is in California.

Evening worker isn't here.

So, whenever I have a question i say out loud. No one hears me.

Well Joe, at least you haven't been sitting in the AV queue for 2 hours. This sucks, here I was thinking I could get a good jump on my AV rep this week and no one is during it.

just doing it to pay for class, studying to be a paramedic

i wake up; get rdy; talk to friends for 5 hours while ignoring teachers; go home and do 3 hours of hw; watch tv and play WoW for 6 hours then go to sleep.

 

next morning <insert previous paragraph here>

 

sadly i dont get payed for it; but atleast at midterm i had 100% "E"s on the report card

 

and for bragging purposes il ad here that im getting the second highest mark in the class for computer science

I'm working on optimization of the momentum measurement algorithm for a high speed trigger for detecting muons at CMS. (at the University of Florida, High Energy Physics Experiment Group)

 

Basically it comes down to programming in C++ all day but its for physics!

I work for Grant Thornton LLP - an accounting firm in Canada (associated with Grant Thornton International (office is 100 countries)).

I work in IT for them, assisting their clients with accounting software installation, training and support.

I guess officially I'm a Business Consulting Analyst - whatever that means....
