Out of the norm events

I was wondering. I know a guild this size would be a test of determination and will power to organize some of the events I have done for smaller guilds... but does anyone think out of the norm events ie. scavanger hunts, or PvP guild tournaments sound fun?

 

I know we keep our end week schedule pretty full but if the interest was there I like to organize that type of stuff from time to time.

We had a 3v3 PvP Tourney once. I don't think it ever became a regular thing. Joesf seems to be taunting the pallies into a 5v5 battle in the arena (which the pallies will domintate, I might add), so obviously there's interest there. I guess we just need to get it organized. As for the scavenger hunt, that could prove interesting. And also, it's great that you're an active new member. You won't get booted... but at this rate you're going to outpost everybody in a short amount of time. Which is good. I think.

I am only averagin 17 posts a day right now I think LOL

 

Cool... well after my probation period maybe I will get with the people who say /ginvite and /ggetthehellouttahere and see if we can put a guild championship together. I got a intersting layout in mind for that.

 

Also some team stuff is always good for AB practice and to improve teamwork as well as learn abilities most people forget they have or to use doing the same old same old.

 

And it is easy to be active when you feel welcomed and at ease the way you all have welcomed me.

I used to run the 3v3 PVP tourney. Then my account expired like the next day lol. Maybe I'll throw another tourney. Electric Erlin still has my belt.

Really, if you have a good idea, pitch it to one of us or try to organise it yourself. The guild should have your back in your ventures.

We're palnning a 5v5 Warrior/Pally torny, and I know there were plans for servral things that never panned out since nobody actually fully explained them. (*cough*Gnomerathon*cough*)

Don't forget the very short, but very fun raid on TB. Wow that didn't turn out well

I like the 5 v 5 thing the Pallies and Warriors might do. I say us Priests do the same against some druids. Afterwards, maybe they will stop self innervating.

An event I was thinking of recently that has the added benefit of helping the guild for our next Rag attempt would be an Elemental Fire Farming Rally. Give a fixed period, like a week. Everyone sends all the fire they farm per day to the judge. At then end of the week, the person with the highest overall total wins. We could come up with incentives and such (a special title, ability to change there member note, etc) that is status more than utility.

 

The reason to tally per day is so people can see how they are doing versus their closest rivals and work on the social parts of taking down your rival (team up with X and Y for day 1, then solo, then go with Z). And status as a reward is way better than utility (like gold, pots, etc) since we could get much more utility just farming on our own usually.

I like your idea alot Wren, infact just before i read it, I was just having the same spark in my mind, than I cleared the smoke and read your post.

 

Something I'd like to add to it (This is just a thought), Maybe who ever wins gets a piece of FR equipment. That way they farm for the fire stuff, win and get FR gear, and when they face Rag they have higher FR. Though if someone wins who doesnt go to Rag than, They farmed for the fire stuff, get the FR gear, and are happy to have won something thats tough to get.It would be a way for those who dont do Rag, get some FR gear without spending serious money. Honestly I dont really see a lose here (except some mats to make another person FR gear, but there will be more fire stuff from the little game).

 

As I said though, its just a thought.

We would have to be on honors not to buy elemental fires from the AH, we all know how desirable FR gear is. I haven't even looked at common AH prices for it, so maybe it's so scarce it's not even an issue.

That is a good point Wren, but I suppose even if they buy them its still helping the guild out. But Im sure we can trust FP to stick to the rules (though this is only a loose concept, not a definate plan)

You guys are killing me. Some of these ideas are awesome and we should definitely work out the details and give them a go.
