New Blizzard Launcher

Servers just went up, and now I'm in the process of the new World of Warcraft Launching program thingaroo. I'm wondering if this is just something else that can cause lag now. I'm just glad they actually put a way to load WoW without using the Launcher, I think I'll be neglecting this new feature. Anyways for those of you who arn't home to read about it or whatever, here's a link that tells all about it.

A new launch utility has been created to enhance your entry into World of Warcraft! The Blizzard Launcher will provide up-to-date news and important event- and support-related updates. In some regions, the Blizzard Launcher also scans for Trojan viruses and third-party cheat programs and notifies you if it has located any on your machine. In addition to providing you with the benefits of additional anti-virus protection, the scan that the launcher conducts represents another security measure to protect your World of Warcraft account information and gameplay experience.

Argh this is taking a million years to install

I hate having Tuesday mornings off.. Soon as the realms come back up, I have to go to work.

 

Whats curious to me, from an IT Data Center Weenie, is did Blizz create their own AV product? Because if they are using someone elses, what kind of licensing did they get for that to use on hundreds of thousands of players computers?!

This mini patch is downloading slower than a full patch

I would be willing to be the scanner only scans for blizzard related trojans and cheat programs.... Which I would assume is not a stolen program

so now blizzard is giving me a tool to create better hacks and cheats that they can't see YES =D

My patch isnt working. Blizzard in its infinite wisdom, recommends reinstalling my game.
