Dagorian 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Stang... that bizatch is goin' downtown the next time we face him! Just want everyone to know that we were faced with a quite a bit of lag during the early attempts and thankfully it subsided later on and despite the lag we came pretty damn close to downing him... most of us not even familiar with bwl and not decked out in epics as everyone claims you hv to be for bwl.So we know that we hv the skill... its just that the server gods werent shining upon us on that day =P

Rodarn 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 We did amazing for a first attempt. I've been lucky enough to have been apart of these raids after all the work went into finding out there little tricks. This makes it fun starting from square one, and tweaking the attempts here and there to do it FP Style.
Gryph 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 FYI, I respecced my talents last night. I shifted just enough points from protection to pick up piercing howl. I am confident that on the next attempt all the little baddies will be riding the Gryphie train! I can go from tanking 1 mob to tanking 50 mobs now! Woot! Joesf 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 So what are some people's ideas on changes we need to make to the strat? I'm thinking a few more priests and warlocks would go a long way. Other than that though, it seems like more of a survival match than anything. More warlcoks would also equal more SS.
Gynis 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 The time we did best was when the Agro train was in FULL effect. After that, it was just positioning so the healers didn't get toasted by the AOE cone. I guess we need to stand next to him and not in the giant cone of fire that comes out of his face. Silly details. Gryph and Vanin can take the agro train next time. They should be able to do it a little easier than Hin and his dynamite, maybe.
Daghostmaker 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 Stric and I talked a bit about strat at work today. Errrr, I mean we worked at work and talked strat AFTER work and on breaks.... yeah.... Anyway, although the train is part of the equation, no way should there be 20+ mobs chasing one guy.... that makes everything else WAAAAYYYYY to chaotic. See what you think of this idea... Group 1 goes straight to the orb and does that thing they do. Group 2-3 takes care of Controller and the 2 adds then assist in the corners.Groups 4, 5, 6 and 7 (each with a warrior) go immediately to their respective corner and start taking the mages/others as they come out. Group 8 rides the train which should consist of dragonkin and maybe an odd other.... By not tying EVERYONE up with the first 3 guys, we can get mobs as they come out and the train will not need to be 25 strong. As soon as Mages come up the steps, warrior taunts and groups take them down. They should never get close to the orb guy... If you look Razorgore up on Thottbot and go to the very last post, there is a link to someone in Source of Strengths video of the fight. It is a great watch and they do an amazing job. It never seems to get as out of hand as it was last night. Granted it probably wasnt their first ever attempt. Everything seems to be contained within the corner groups. Check it out, I may be misreading their strat but it looks close to what I have above. Ghost
Daghostmaker 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 OK I watched the video again and it is just a crazy, confusing fight with people running all over the f$%&ing place. They moved all the mobs to the middle at one point and used Razorgore's AOE on them. They also had all the eggs down in under 6 minutes. Beornwarrior 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 We obviosuly did very well but it seemed that it was to chaotic to fast. I wasnt really able to see what was going on but we should be able to drop a decent amount of the ads for the first couple of minutes. Watching the video it seemed fairly organized for the first 3 minutes or so. It takes 3 seconds to break an egg with a 7 second cooldown. 10 seconds times 30 eggs is 300 seconds divided by 60 is 5 minutes. Obviously you have to get mind control back every 30 seconds or so so we should have around 6 minutes in stage 1 as Ghost suggested. Also of note is that Razorgore has various stances which can be changed (although loses mc). Near the final eggs when the controller is about to lose mc they should probably change razorgore to attack stance. Attack - BalancedDefensive - 10% less damage done....10% less damage taken (default)Berserker - 10% more damage taken....+3% to crit
siegeman 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2005 I'd also like to point out that this battle makes OOC rezing very, very difficult. I tried it on multiple occasions, and found myself in combat after some mobs ran through me a couple of times. With so many of them running around, it's hard to actually complete a rez without moving out of the way.
Dagorian 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2005 yea i realised ooc is really hard... but i still got ressed in most of the attempts if i happened to die early in the fight. i suppose ooc is only an option early on in the fight... we had a couple of unlucky times where ppl were conflagged and died 10secs into the attempt... i suppose ooc ressing should be for that occasion. getting past stage 1 is tough... so wiping on 2nd stage is demoralising.. maybe we could do the whole DI a pally to res the dead once we reach 2nd stage... the problem here is the aoe cone that raz has... so to stay out of his los he has to be cornered and players trying to avoid dmg hv to stay behind pillars... if i'm not wrong... unfortunately this will be hard for ooc ressers if u've died on the other side of the room.what is the cooldown of raz's cone of fire thing? the agro train is chaotic... altho it does work we rely a lot on chance and much less on coordination which is why we sometimes get awesome attempts and other times we wipe rather quickly so i agree we might need to approach this is a more precise way to ensure higher success rates... also there's aoe so when druids sleep their dragons... they lose that debuff after like 5secs due to some1's aoe... i think the best idea we had that nite was appointing an assist for each of the corner groups... esteban did it really well in our grp and i reckon its pretty effective especially if we wanna try something that daghost has pointed out. Esteban 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2005 I was looking around the battle and I saw a few problems The first ist hat the mobs were too spread around and it was too hard to pick on the mages. What my friend suggested whas that no one attacked any mob till the train got started. once the train was started it is easier to pick off mages cuz they just stand around casting (the problem with this is that the train gets hit a lot from mages if people arent taking them off constantly) my friend also told me not to use frost nova or fear because it breaks off the train and basically dumps all the mobs on whoever is closest to them. another problem was that no one went to their corners. I dont blame anyone its pretty hard to keep focused on that fight, with every one trying to take down the mages and stuff. so basically what I suggest is. Keep it slow for the first few spawns till the train is set up, at this time keep the train people healed (so every one kinds stands in the middle for this part, exept the controller party) and then when you can start to pick out the mages (which will stand around casting) you just start nuking at them. that way we can start the train earier and it is easier to pick off the mages Another thing I was told was that 2 warriors could do trains 2 separate ones. One tank on one side the other on the other side and both would basically run around the place in circles kinda chacing eachother off. That way there is less chance of a meele add getting sneak past the train. Just my 2cp.... or 2gp by the looks of this post
Daghostmaker 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2005 I'm not sure what server this guild is on, but this is a very detailed post on the strategy. It's kinda long but it is an easy read if you can follow along with what was happening when we were there. He breaks down every classes role in this fight.http://leftovers.groupee.net/groupee/forum...864/m/989104816 Some of the highlights were:Use a hunter to kite dragonkin and 2 warriors to kite legionaires. Tag EVERY mob as it spawns. Dont let them get to the platforms or the middle. Kill mages quick and crowd control (sheep) the legionaires until a kiting warrior gets there to add him to the train. Use controller orb from the ground immediately in front of the platform and 2 priests should keep orb guy shielded pretty much constantly. It is way more detailed than that (obviously) so if you are interested, read the post. Doesnt look like it should be too incredibly hard after we get the basics down. Chaotic, yes but nothing we can't handle. Ghostbtw If you have the train pick up everything and then try to pick the mages out, the guy running around will need to be healed alot. Won't this cause some healer aggro?
