The open beta is all next week and is suppose to come out on the 22nd of September. Drop a line and your projected names. There not giving away keys anywhere NCSoft has selected 2 sites to host there beta keys.Thats what im gathering at least. Pretty sure thats what killer did. tji3380 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2009 Open beta's are typically not restricted in who, but by numbers. They are still trying to manage stability. What you're thinking of is the end phase beta known as a 'stress-test beta' in which they are deliberately attempting to push the servers to their limits. It's at this latter point that I'd expect them to allow all and sundry to enter. (Of course at that point it also provides exposure of the new product to potential clientèle). Most pay to play games have an "open" beta for the people who have pre-ordered the game, or bought the code from some other source. It's still OPEN because it's not invitation only, which is really all that a closed beta has going for it most of the time in pay to play mmos.
