Feanore 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2009 (edited) It's funny, this makes me kinda sad... Filefront was one of the original gamer up/download sites; I remember grabbing MW2 files from that place when the only '3D games' were in DOS mode. All the the great mods that have literally changed gaming were hosted there: Anyone remember when Counterstrike and Team Fortress were Quake mods? That's right, Quake mods, before they became legendary mods for HalfLife, when valve was a bunch of moders in their basements. And where could you snag those great mods? Yup, filefront. /salute the end of an era Edited March 27, 2009 by Feanore
Hykos 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2009 Is there any hosting space on this domain to host those videos? It does. I had d/l'd stric's videos at one point with the intention of hosting them on fp.com, but never got around to it, like a lot of other things... I'll see what I have. I might have deleted them, though.
Daghostmaker 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2009 I'm pretty sure I still have all the videos Chris and Jon made on one of my computers. I might have to bring it down in a couple of weeks to see if Kimball can salvage them.
Shadrende 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2009 We should have the space. I have all of Chris' videos on my home computer along with mine. I don't know about setting up something to stream them on the site, I don't think our bandwidth is that amazing, but we could at least set up some kind of storage repository. Beornwarrior 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2009 FileFront has been acquired by the original founders of the site and will NOT be suspended as previously announced. This is NOT an April Fool's Joke. After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to shut down FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media. http://welcome.filefront.com/
