dragonlgnd 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2009 As a 1 time cost, I can deal. If there turns out to be a bunch of hidden costs, and I have to sign a contract, only to find out that's it's so small I can barely hold it in my hand , and I lose it , I'm gonna be pissed... huhwha? Daghostmaker 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2009 From what I heard, you will only be able to change your spec at a Lexicon of Power but no fear, people with Inscription will be able to make a 'portable' Lexicon of Power you can drop anywhere. Think of it as a repair bot that lets you change specs.

Aigle 0 Report post Posted February 24, 2009 (edited) Best way is to quest, unless you have finished all quests lines, there is a lot of money out there to be rapidly grabbed. Plus reputation as a bonus. And while you quest you can mine, herb and skin according to your professions. Krotas 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 (edited) 1000g its cheap, i used to spent like 300-400g respecing(+glyph's) every week lol that's a little extreme. I was EXTREMELY excited about this until I heard that it might require this lexicon of power crap. I don't respec terribly often (at most, once a week) and I would have paid the 1000g out of convenience more than anything else. But if I have to go to a major city every time I want to respec (much like it is now) then there is no convenience involved, and it would take me at least half a year to make my 1000g back. Not worth it imo =/ Edited February 25, 2009 by Krotas
dragonlgnd 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 Like Ghost said . inscribers will be able to make a portable Lexicon of power. 1k gold isn't that hard to make, it wasn't in BC and it definately isn't now, even going to a BC instance and plowing through it a few times gives some good cash. sik 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 50G for Re-spec plus 15-30g for Water Elemental Glyph, 10g for Evo Glyph, 20 Icy veins glyph and then back to pve spec . btw i can teleport so isnt a problem for me to go to any major city haha
Krotas 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 Well my point was that unless I have a scribe following me around 24/7 there isn't much point to getting the dual spec. Even though it's cheap, it would still take far too long to make my money back to make it worth the investment. However, I just experimented on the PTR and unless they haven't properly implemented it yet for whatever reason you can in fact change to either of your two specs at any time you choose (Note: didn't test while in an instance or raid) and an interesting side note is that when switching to your other spec it costs 100% mana (you can have any amount of mana at the time, but it will use it all up). stangmeister 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 Key! You can do it at any major city weirdo! Any Lexicon of power! you dont need a scribe!
Shikimaru 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 There's a 5sec cast from your talent tree box thingy so you can respec anywhere as long as you aren't in combat. But it does dump like 80% of your mana/rage/energy/runic power when you switch. Oh and there's a new option in the interface menu that lets you set up your talent points then you have to click a button to confirm the changes, so no more oops clicks and having to spend gold to fix it. dragonlgnd 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 Bah , all I'm hearing is complaining Key! Personally I don't think you should be able to switch on the fly, with to much ease. You'd have people switching during boss fights, or before entering combat in arena when they see what they are facing. I don't mind the dual spec thing, but it's a bit late in the game to add it in my thought. All aspects are easy right now, healing DPSing and tanking, I see half geared tanks with poor specs succeeding where they shouldn't be able to. So making even easier to switch specs and glyphs allows 1 person to more of a multi class, so you don't really need the specific people anymore really. It's an odd way to look at it, but that's been one of my concerns with everything being so easy also.
Coeus 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 On the official WoW forms, it's been confirmed that as of right now (subject to change since it's still in testing): No need for a lexicon; Available at level 40 (no longer max level only); 5 second cast time, switches action bars + glyphs too (you need to use the other 'mod' for gear); Can't be used during arenas or battlegrounds; If that's all true, I'm quite happy about it. Joesf 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2009 Switching specs You literally just click a button, and after a 5 second cast, your specializations, glyphs, and action bars swap. You must be out of combat, and it still cannot be used in battlegrounds or arenas. There is currently no cooldown on the ability to swap specializations though. (Source) 1000 Gold at level 40??? Not many level 40 characters would have 1000g, to be sure. Keep in mind our original design intent was to make this available only to level 80 players. After taking in a lot of feedback from the community and further discussing the design of this feature, we decided to make it level 40. Switching talent specs is faster than hearthing. Does bubble break combat? Bubble /switch spec!
