Morgause 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 Humans are also the only animal that pick and choose what we eat and debate why we should or shouldn't eat something. I guess we should just be thankful that we live in places that afford us such luxury as to be choosy about what we consume, not all humans have that. I can honestly say that if shooting up some cows with growth hormones could produce enough meat to feed the world and help end starvation I'd bulk those bastards up. Hell I would personally choke a baby cow with my bare hands if it meant a starving child could eat.

Klaudia 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 First off, no, I do not feed live anything to my snakes. All my animals are fed frozen/thawed prey items. Also--snakes cannot eat anything BUT other animals. Their digestive system is not designed for plants. They are strictly carniverous. A snake eating other animals is different from a human abusing animals. you do realize that those feeding animals are bred specifically to be killed, frozen, and shipped off to feed pet snakes? in mass quantities? do you think the people who raise tens of thousands of quails and rats and mice knowing they are just going to becoming food treat them with any sort of recognition? we used to feed mice fetuses to our baby snakes. i have no idea how they GET mice fetuses, but i can only imagine! they were pretty cute though! if you really think a snake eating other animals is different [better?] than i would think letting the snake eat live animals would be more reasonable. Fatherpeteus 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 We were talking dairy cows, not beef. Beef cattle are fattened up, then slaughtered. Obviously that's a little harsh on some level, though certainly defendable. Obviously also, it has nothing to do with dairy. Factory farms have the same issues that all big industries/businesses have - Concern for profit overrides all else. The root problem there isn't animal rights, it's unchecked capitalism. Hell I would personally choke a baby cow with my bare hands if it meant a starving child could eat. We could help end starvation by ending the meat industry. It takes 10 pounds of grain for one pound of beef. Plus an enormous amount of fresh water. Just sayin.
Hvilelos 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2008 Or we could end starvation by sterilizing the folks in third world countries popping out 17 malnourished kids before they are 30. And Mormons.

If you have a problem with how those animals are treated, by all means, don't eat the meat. The problem with people like PETA is if you don't see their [points of] view, you're the enemy, kind of like Nazis.

Ecthelion 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 hopefully soon it went from useing breast milk in ice cream to this Oh Zang, Soma was point out the terrible spelling and the lack of punctuation in your reply, not combating your views. I think you should relax and take a seat aboard the sarcasm train, the booze is awesome in the dinner car! In fact I'd go so far as to say I think we could all do with a ride. I hear there's even a hypocrisy box car we can party in.
lemontree 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 is "nazis" now an all-encompassing term for "the enemy?" it reminds me of sailor moon, no matter what bad guy they were fighting it was always THE ENEMY. they were fighting the nazis?!?!?! Noreaster 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 Now I know I talk like a fag and my shit's all retarded, but I'll throw this out there. You posit that telling people what or what not to eat is a boundary infraction, and that folks that cannot see others' points of view are Nationalist Socialists. But, telling someone what is or what is not a boundary infraction could also be construed as not minding one's business, ergo Illinois Nazis.
