RIP George Carlin

No way, this is a huge blow to Comedy worldwide.

“The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.”

“I have as much authority as the Pope, I just don't have as many people who believe it.”

Thanks for the laughs.

Not many people can be a comedian for 40 years and have people falling on their asses every second of it.

I'd seen him a few times. He had to be one of the coolest people ever. Not everyone can say they've tampered with an airplane smoke detector to go get high in the bathroom. "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that."

I pretty much stopped drinking because I found out about this last night. I poured out my drink on the grass and mourned the loss of my most favorite comedian ever. He introduced me to Lewis Black because that was george carlins favorite comedian since pryor and the dude that he got his start from basically.

I will miss this comedian with all of my balls.

I heard this late last night... Yeah, it's a shame. He was pretty funny, and my wife is named after him so she always says, "Carlyn - pronounced like the comedian George Carlin".

He was pretty funny. He lost me a bit when he got TOO bitter from time to time, and was more cynical than funny for part of his routine, but generally he was really funny and had some really good bits.

I'm glad I had a chance to see him a few years back. He was one of the few intellectual comics left. He lived a hard life though so this wasn't totally unexpected but definitely a blow for sure.

I really liked him. He reminds me of one of my favorite comedians, Marcos Mundstock.
