  1. I went to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) where I got my degree in Game Development. It's definitely a solid school but it's private so it will cost you quite a bit. The curriculum contains a fair amount of traditional art with the major leaning towards the art side as well. The amount of courses really started to expand while I was there into programming, level scripting, writing, etc. Since I graduated back in May they added a more programmer/design based track which I really would have wanted to take. They offer pretty much everything online through eLearning/Blackboard.

A lot of good student games come out of USC and Digipen but I'm not sure they offer courses online (Digipen is absurdly expensive as I recall).

  2. I just ran across this and I think it's pretty fun; plus you're helping out all those unfortunate kids... or well you're just helping Google Images but that's more important anyways.

The concept is that you're shown a series of images over the course of two minutes and have to input labels relevant to the image shown (can't match a list of vague words). At the start you're randomly teamed up with someone else from the internet and try to get matches to score points. More points are awarded for originality and the faster you match the more images you get to label. It's simple, quick, fun, and addictive in the same vein as TextTwist or really any of those text games. I love Google.

  3. It's a little late for my submission but since no one else submitted anything I don't feel bad about it. I really got into this and as is my trademark took something that was supposed to be short and made it not so short. If The Mighty Boosh, The Venture Bros, and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia had a threeway and were unlucky their baby would be the show that I have created. You would of course want to first cut off the extra fetus head and ensure it had the optimal environment of drugs and parental beatings to develop into the best show it could be.

5 Squeeshmee PVP points to anyone who manages to actually finish reading this. 10 points if you laugh. This could use another revision or two but I need some time away from it before coming back with another pair of editing scissors.

A global colonization of Mars is about to begin after the United States failed to trick the Middle East into relocating to Mars without oxygen support. This story, in the form of a TV screenplay, follows three friends as they try to reach a transport ship at their local Costco Wholesale. Unfortunately, they have forgotten their membership card but this conniving group always find a way. Strange and hopefully comedic events propel them to space as they accidentally create a supervillain and deal with the upper echelon of Costco Crewman who have animal heads and tools for hands.

  4. I watched the trailer for 9 a couple months back and it certainly looks enjoyable. On the subject of interesting looking films with 9 in the title I'd also recommend checking out District 9. It's a documentary style low/high budget sci-fi flick produced by Peter Jackson. The overview of the film, quoted below, is certainly interesting.

In the movie, aliens made first contact with Earth twenty years ago while humanity waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa's District 9 as the world's nations argued over what to do with them. Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens' welfare - they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens' advanced weaponry work.

Happy birfday! If I were a slogan machine I would right something else. If I had graduated the third grade I would have spelled write right. Wait! No I wouldn't have spelled it right because that's how I already spelled it. I would have spelled write the right way by spelling it write. That's right.

  6. I completely forgot that I did these. Such a good idea! I'm kind of embarrassed at how happy my tone is in the other necro'd loot thread. Excluding the fact that we aren't raiding atm these would be difficult to do now with how much pugging and 10 manning is going on.

  7. An unfortunate choice of words in your first post Corkie but the PvP in IF was most certainly enjoyable. I play on Squeeshmee now and was death gripping you away when Rosh was like "OMG it's MF Corkie!" An old school FP raid on the Ogrimmar gates sounds fun atm.

  8. Been trying to think of something clever to say but as usual I have failed miserably. I will not simply say Happy Birthday and walk away!

Hopefully you'll enjoy this. A couple of games done in the Quake Live Online Whatever engine. Velociraptor Safari, Jetpack Brontosaurus, and Minotaur China Shop. No better way to waste time then mixing Dinosaurs and mythological creatures with jetpacks and plates.

  9. FileFront has been acquired by the original founders of the site and will NOT be suspended as previously announced. This is NOT an April Fool's Joke.

After learning about Ziff Davis Media's plan to shut down FileFront at the end of March, the original founders of FileFront made the decision to buy it back from Ziff Davis Media.

  10. Thanks douches! I keep wanting to come back to play Wrath with you guys but then I realize I'd have to play WoW again and the loot cycle would start. I'm so tempted! I'd hate it. But it would be fun right? No, I can't. Yes! No.

  11. i always see beorn playing warhammer 40k is that this?

Different game! 40k Dawn of War 2 is a strategy/rpg. I stopped playing WAR a while ago.

I agree with the above statements with the overwhelming problem being broken queues upon release (beta was a ton of fun!). Itemization is so critical and although frustrating with gear always changing very well done by Blizzard. Mythic's armor progression system was all kinds of balls with gear that rarely had a set of stats you wanted. Added on to this was for end game gear had to be obtained from different places...dungeons(which sucked), bgs, city fights. Generally this gear was even or lower with random world drops. It was just odd. I loved my Blackorc with his iron eye and as Dag stated there are a ton of things I loved about War. Sadly the amount of time Dag and I gave to Mythic expecting some miracle fixing patch never came.

    Dag/RH/Brandon...you guys playing WoW?
