Proposition to amend the California state Constitution to ban single sex marriages. Arizona and Florida had similar amendments on their ballots. As of today, 26 states have amended their constituions to ban it and like a dozen others have statutes against it. Only 2 allow marriages now, a couple allow cival unions, and a couple recognize marriages performed in other countries/states.

anyway, expect it all to change by 2016. That's when Gen Y becomes the largest single voting block in the country, overtaking the baby boomers. And we tend to support the issue overwhelmingly.
