Giving her the benefit of the doubt, she did say something to the effect of 'If necessary' meaning that hopefully she would pursue other options first.

I have to say, that was a pretty weak defense.

wtf? How did I get involved in this? I haven't even been in vent in weeks.

The debate I want to see, fo real. Rapper FAT JOE has lashed out at fellow Puerto Rican DADDY YANKEE for publicly endorsing U.S. presidential candidate JOHN MCCAIN. The heavyweight rap star, a big fan of Obama, says, "I feel real disgusted that Daddy Yankee would do that." "The reason why I called him a sellout is because I feel he did that for a look, rather than the issues that are affecting his people that look up to him. "We're fighting an unjust war. It's the Latinos and black kids up in the frontlines, fighting that war... We over here trying to take the troops out of Iraq and bring peace. This guy immediately wants war." But Fat Joe has offered to 'educate' Daddy Yankee about the evils of the Republican party: "If he believes John MCCain is the better candidate for the Latinos, we could sit down. Even if he wants to get into a debate, we can debate anywhere."

I just noticed the tie on the picture. That makes this the best birthday thread ever.

I could be mistaken on my facts about this one (I didn't really follow this topic to close when I heard about it) but I think it was something that was being talked about in her church a few months back while she was there. So it was something that happened before she was in the national spotlight. The outrage seems to stem from the fact that she didn't get up and storm out when the subject came up. Somehow, in someone's mind, I suppose this constitutes her full agreement and support of it. Like Mike said, I don't like her politics, particularly from a candidate campaigning under the banner of reform. It's strange and she could, when it's all said and done, be the reason I don't vote Republican.

No one here projected the 'pray away the gay' thing to the entire Republican party. I moving the political discussion back to the other thread so this one can get down to some hardcore 'Hills' action.

I'm really trying to stay as neutral when posting as I can but I found this: ANCHORAGE - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has billed taxpayers for 312 nights spent in her own home during her first 19 months in office, charging a "per diem" allowance intended to cover meals and incidental expenses while traveling on state business. Must be for food since she 'fired the cook'.

Was that the same church where she delivered the speech asking everyone to pray that it was God's will that the pipeline get built?

BTW, the reason Couture has been having problems with Dana White/Zuffa is because, as the champ, he wants to fight the best in the world, Fedor Emelianenko. Dana couldn't/wouldn't set it up so Couture was sitting out the rest of his contract. When it expired he was going to go to Affliction to fight him. UFC sued claiming he 'owed' them something like 2 more fights so maybe this is him trying to fulfill his commitment so he can bail. ps ILU Saucebby. I like Lesner and think he could be pretty formidable but until he learns some passable jiu jitsu, he will never be more than Tank Abbott to me. He'll win some fights but he won't be a serious threat to the more rounded fighters at the top of the class.

I didn't say easy wins. I said fights he could handle. Sure Frank Mir was a former heavyweight champion but he was just coming back from a devastating motorcycle accident that took him out the game for a long time. He was not in top form and still won. Heath Herring is a solid fighter but Brock hardly 'beat' him. Heath is far from a top tier fighter. His UFC record was 2-2 (now 2-3). Both his wins were by decision and on one of those, the judges were split. Aside from the very first punch of the fight (which was F&*KING AWESOME), he was taken down and basically ridden for 15 minutes. Speaking of that first punch, it was reported that it broke Herring's orbital bone and he still managed to go the distance. Much like my comment on Lesner, if he had any jiu jitsu skills at all, that fight woulda been over pretty fast. Anyway, the TL:DR version of this post is this: Randy Couture > Frank Mir+Heath Herring And just to wrap this post up nicely, a quote I found from an MMA news site: "And the winner of the fight, to be held in Las Vegas, will face the victor from December's Frank Mir v Antonio Nogueira interim heavyweight title clash sometime in 2009 to be crowned undisputed champion."

^ This... quoted twice for emphasis. Brock is an amazingly strong dude but he has ZERO ground experience that matters. Before you scream and holler about him being a world class REAL wrestler, take a look at his last fight. Sure he won but if he had even 1 small seed of a clue about anything related to Jui Jitsu, he would have ended it in the first round. It looked like a college National Championship wrestling match which works as long as you can man-handle the guy you are fighting but I don't see it happening against someone possessing the strength and experience of Randy Couture.

We've all grown up so much... I think my mage was 39 back then and my warrior didn't even exist. I play this game too much.

Apparently the days of feeding Brock Lesner fights he can manage are over. It was a good run. http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=14275

I can't stop laughing at the noise this chick makes when she hits the ground and the fake concern of the people back in the studio.

Looking forward to seeing her debate Foreign Affairs with Joe Biden.. It's amazingly funny that the GOP seems to think she will attract any of Hillary's female followers. This woman is a polar opposite other than the presence of a vagina, which can be proven by the fact that both have kids. Thinking that staunch pro-choicers will overlook the pro-life stance of her and McCain simply because she's a woman is flat out naive. I watched her speech today and I have to say that I didn't find her all that impressive. I'm looking forward to how much they can polish her delivery and present her at the RNC next week.

Your posts always remind me of those pictures in those 'Highlights' magazine from when I was like 8. I sit there and stare at them for like 20 minutes trying to figure out what the hell I'm supposed to be seeing.
